Resumo: This research aimed to investigate aspects of professional learning and performance of university teachers of physical education in early career. This is a descriptive study, in which a semi-structured interview was conduced with ten teachers linked to higher education institutions in Maringá/PR. The data were interpreted based on the content analysis method. The results indicated that aspects as the quality of school education, engagement during graduation and experiences received in the postgraduate study stood out as contributions to professional training. For the professional performance, it is based on a range of challenges that discourage and challenge in the construction of a practice committed to the effective teaching-learning process.

Se trata de um estúdio descriptivo, uma entrevista semi estructurada fue conducido con diez profesores vinculados a instituciones de educación superior en Maringá/PR. Los datos se interpretaron basado en el método de análisis de contenido. Los resultados indicaron que aspectos de la calidad de la educación escolar, participación durante la graduación y experiências recibidas en el pos graduación se destacaron en las contribuciones a la formación profesional. Cuanto a la práctica professional, se guia por uma serie de desafíos que desalientan y desafío la construcción de um proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje eficaz. Esta pesquisa objetivou investigar aspectos de formação e atuação profissional de docentes universitários de educação física em início de carreira. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, em que foi realizada entrevista semi-estruturada com dez docentes vinculados às Instituições de Ensino Superior de Maringá/PR. Os dados foram interpretados com base no método de análise de conteúdo. Os resultados indicaram que aspectos como a qualidade da formação escolar, o engajamento no decorrer da graduação e as experiências recebidas na pós-graduação destacaram-se como contributos para a formação profissional.
