Resumo: The purpose of this article is to tell a little about the history of the creation of higher technology courses in Brazil, bringing some of the main motivations for the emergence of this modality. We also present, based on the latest sense of higher education (2018), data that point to the growth in the number of enrollments in technology courses offered by private educational institutions, as well as in courses offered in distance learning (distance learning).

También presentamos, en base al último sentido de la educación superior (2018), datos que apuntan al crecimiento en el número de inscripciones en cursos de tecnología ofrecidos por instituciones educativas privadas, así como en cursos ofrecidos en educación a distancia (educación a distancia).O presente artigo tem por objetivo contar um pouco da história da criação dos cursos superiores de tecnologia no Brasil, trazendo algumas das principais motivações para o surgimento de tal modalidade.
