The Environmental Theme in Higher Education: approaches proposed in undergraduate education courses at the Federal University of Triângulo Mineiro

Resumo: We are currently experiencing a number of environmental imbalances as a result of human activities, which necessitates the inclusion of Environmental Schooling at various levels of education. Assuming that the teacher is a facilitator of thoughts on the socio-environmental issues raised in the classroom, it is accepted that this professional's initial training should include funding for this purpose. The goal of this research was to look at how the environmental subject was addressed in degree courses at the Federal University of Triângulo Mineiro's Institute of Exact, Natural, and Educational Sciences. A qualitative research was conducted in the Pedagogical Curriculum Projects of the ICENE licentiate courses for the analysis of these projects, and they were classed with the coordinators of these courses. The methodologies suggested by Laurence Bardin's Content Analysis were applied for data analysis. As a result, it was possible to comprehend the many viewpoints of each course on the Environmental Thematic, which are divided into three categories based on how the topic is presented in the courses. It is stated that there is no pre-determined method for incorporating Environmental Education into teacher initial training because each course tailors this issue to its curricular realities and unique characteristics. However, the necessity of exercising critical awareness that is free of deterministic standards, confronting the environmental problem in a transversal way, aligned with the course's common, critical teacher training, and conscious of their responsibility as an educator is appreciated.   Key words: Environmental Education. Federal University of Triângulo Mineiro.  Resumen   Actualmente convivimos con una serie de desequilibrios ambientales provocados por la actividad humana, lo que propicia la presencia de la Educación Ambiental en los diferentes niveles educativos. Asumiendo que el docente es un mediador de reflexiones sobre los retos socioambientales que se promueven en el ámbito escolar, se entiende que la formación inicial de este profesional debe proporcionar subvenciones para tal fin. Este trabajo tuvo como objetivo realizar una investigación relacionada con el abordaje de la temática ambiental en las carreras vinculadas al Instituto de Ciencias Exactas, Naturales y de la Educación de la Universidad Federal del Triângulo Mineiro. Para el análisis de estos proyectos se realizó una investigación cualitativa en los Proyectos Curriculares Pedagógicos de los cursos de licenciatura del ICENE y se realizaron entrevistas con los coordinadores de estos cursos. Para el análisis de los datos se utilizaron los procedimientos propuestos por el Análisis de Contenido de Laurence Bardin. Por lo tanto, fue posible comprender las diferentes perspectivas de cada curso en materia de Temática Ambiental, las cuales se organizan en tres categorías que indican la forma en que se aborda el tema en los cursos. Se concluye que no existe una forma predeterminada de trabajar la Educación Ambiental en la formación inicial de los docentes, ya que cada curso adapta esta temática a su realidad curricular y sus particularidades. Sin embargo, se entiende la importancia de llevar a cabo una conciencia crítica que escape a los estándares deterministas, abordando la temática ambiental de manera transversal, articulada con las discusiones comunes del curso, apuntando a la formación de docentes críticos conscientes de su rol como educadores. .   Palabras clave: Educación Ambiental. Partindo do pressuposto que o professor é um mediador das reflexões sobre os desafios socioambientais promovidas no ambiente escolar, entende-se que a formação inicial desse profissional deve oferecer os subsídios para este fim. Este trabalho teve como objetivo realizar uma investigação relacionada a abordagem da temática ambiental nos cursos de licenciatura vinculados ao Instituto de Ciências Exatas, Naturais e Educação da Universidade Federal do Triângulo Mineiro. Para a análise desses projetos, foi desempenhada uma pesquisa de natureza qualitativa nos Projetos Pedagógicos Curriculares dos cursos de licenciatura do ICENE e foram realizadas entrevistas com os coordenadores desses cursos. Para a análise dos dados foram utilizados os procedimentos propostos pela Análise de Conteúdo de Laurence Bardin. Diante disso, foi possível compreender as perspectivas distintas de cada curso a respeito da Temática Ambiental, sendo os mesmos organizados em três categorias que indicam a forma segundo a qual o tema é abordado nos cursos. Conclui-se que não existe uma maneira pré-determinada para trabalhar a Educação Ambiental na formação inicial dos professores, pois cada curso adequa esse tema à sua realidade curricular e a suas particularidades. Entretanto, compreende-se a importância de realizar uma conscientização crítica e que fuja dos padrões deterministas, abordando a temática ambiental de maneira transversal, articulada com as discussões comuns do curso, visando a formação do professor crítico e consciente do seu papel enquanto educador.   Palavras-chave: Educação Ambiental.
