Resumo: | This article aims to analyze theaffections, meanings and perceptions of the school environment for young students from a public school in Fortaleza, Brazil, from the perspective of Historical-Cultural Theory and Environmental Psychology. Such analysis considers, therefore, the person-environment relations as generators of a mutuality of affections that interfere in the way young people think, feel, perceive and behave in the school space. This affectation causes changes in the interrelations that occur between young students and the educational environment, favoring participation, involvement or withdrawal from school. 42 young people from the 2nd year of high school participated in the qualitative research, and the Generating Affective Maps Instrument (IGMA) was used for data collection. The results indicated that students internalize social meanings about the school environment as if they were their own senses; the affections unveiled about this place are ambiguous, contrasting happiness and/or prejudice; the school is a place of interrelationships that affect and transform the person as well as the environment, in addition to being a place for projecting dreams and expectations, perspectives and preparation for the future. |

Este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar los significados, sentidos y afectos del ambiente escolar para jóvenes estudiantes de una escuela pública de Fortaleza Ceará, Brasil, desde la perspectiva de la teoría histórico-cultural y la . Dicho análisis considera, por tanto, las relaciones persona-ambiente como generadoras de una reciprocidad de afectos que interfieren en la forma cómo los jóvenes piensan, sienten, perciben y se comportan en el espacio escolar. Esta afectación provoca cambios en las interrelaciones que se producen entre los jóvenes estudiantes y el ambiente educativo, favoreciendo la participación, el involucramiento o el retiro de la escuela. En la investigación cualitativa participaron 42 jóvenes de 2º año de bachillerato y, para la recolección de datos, se utilizó el Instrumento Generador de Mapas Afectivos (IGMA). Los resultados indicaron que los estudiantes internalizan los significados sociales sobre el ambiente escolar como si fueran sus propios sentidos; los afectos que se desvelan sobre ese sitio son ambiguos, contrastando entre la felicidad y/o el daño;se evidenció, todavía, la escuela como un sitio de interrelaciones que afectan y transforman a la persona y el entorno y que influyen en el proceso de proyección de sueños y expectativas, perspectivas y preparación para el futuro. O presente artigo tem como objetivo analisar os afetos, significados e sentidos do ambiente escolar para jovens estudantes de uma escola pública de Fortaleza/CE sob a perspectiva da teoria histórico-cultural e da. Essa análise considera, portanto, as relações pessoa-ambiente enquanto geradoras de uma mutualidade de afetos que interferem no modo como os jovens pensam, sentem, percebem e se comportam no espaço escolar. Essa afetação provoca transformações nas inter-relações que ocorrem entre os jovens estudantes e o ambiente educacional, favorecendo a participação, o envolvimento ou o afastamento da escola. Participaram da pesquisa de enfoque qualitativo 42 jovens do 2º ano do ensino médio e, para a coleta de dados, utilizou-se o Instrumento Gerador dos Mapas Afetivos (IGMA). Os resultados indicaram que os estudantes internalizam os significados sociais a respeito do ambiente escolar como se fossem seus próprios sentidos; os afetos desvelados sobre tal lugar são ambíguos, contrastando entre felicidade e/ou prejuízo;evidenciou-se, ainda, a escola como lugar de inter-relações que afetam e transformam a pessoa e o ambiente e que influenciam o processo de projeção de sonhos e expectativas, de perspectivas e de preparação para o futuro.
