Resumo: In this paper we aim to examine how the linguistic analysis directives proposed by the National Curricular Parameters to the Portuguese Language Teaching are incorporated by Portuguese textbooks. The data shows that although the teacher's handbook suggests the development of the reflection literacy, some linguistic analysis exercises in the student's textbook still point to the development of the recognition literacy.
