The gardens of the 'Belle Époque Carioca': landscape documentation of the 'Pereira Passos Period'

Resumo: The article reflects on the landscape reforms that took place in the City of Rio de Janeiro at the beginning of the 20th century, with an emphasis on the design practice of Paul Villon and his team. Based on primary sources and the concept of habitus, by Pierre Bourdieu, it was observed that, at that moment, the first appointment to the role of landscape architect occurred, granted to Paul Villon, who together with his team, oversaw the design of the gardens in the Pereira Passos Period.

A partir de fuentes primarias y el concepto de habitus, de Pierre Bourdieu, se observó que, en ese momento, se produjo el primer nombramiento al rol de paisajista, otorgado a Paul Villon, quien junto con su equipo, estaba a cargo de la diseño de los jardines en la época de Pereira Passos.O artigo reflete sobre as reformas paisagísticas ocorridas na Cidade do Rio de Janeiro no início do século XX, com ênfase para a prática projetual de Paul Villon e sua equipe.
