Resumo: The article aims to highlight the importance of school archives as places dedicated to the preservation of historical-educational heritage that allows the historians of education to investigate the history of the school but also as valuable deposits for the realization of educational activities. Starting from the innovations introduced by the Italian legislation and some national projects, the aim is to present the heuristic potential of school archives, illustrating how they can contribute to the reconstruction of different aspects of the history of the school and what initiatives can be designed at school to sensitize students on the theme of conservation and enhancement of school memory and to encourage the development of critical sense that is an indispensable resource for an active and conscious citizenship.

Partiendo de las novedades introducidas por la normativa italiana y por algunos proyectos nacionales, se pretende presentar las potencialidades heurísticas de los archivos escolares, explicando cómo pueden contribuir con la reconstrucción de diferentes aspectos de la historia de la escuela y qué iniciativas pueden diseñarse en la escuela para sensibilizar a los estudiantes sobre el tema de la conservación y valorización de la memoria escolar, y para favorecer el desarrollo de ese sentido crítico que constituye un recurso irrenunciable para una ciudadanía activa y consciente.A contribuição visa destacar a importância dos arquivos escolares como lugares dedicados à preservação do patrimônio histórico-educacional que permitem aos historiadores da educação investigar a história da escola, mas também como depósitos preciosos para a realização de atividades educacionais.
