Resumo: Current research explains the dilemmas and possible evolutionary trends identified in Intellectual Property Law. The difficulty of adopting uniform rules to regulate multimedia creations, due to their hybridity, and interoperability as a viable solution for the promotion of equilibrium between technological tools for copyright protection and the private use of digital content are highlighted. This approach is guided by the idea that intellectual multimedia creations exemplify a paradigmatic case for Intellectual Property Law, since they present the importance of defining the limits of protection against copyright infringement. The technological efforts to this purpose must be examined so that they may conform to the dictates of the law.

Se destacan la dificultad de adopción de reglas uniformes destinadas a regimentar las obras multimedias, debido a su carácter hibrido; y la interoperacionalidad, como solución viable para la promoción del equilibrio entre las herramientas tecnológicas de protección a los derechos del autor y el uso privado de los contenidos digitales. El abordaje se organiza a partir de la idea de que las obras multimedias ejemplifican objeto paradigmático para el Derecho de Propiedad Intelectual, pues demuestran la relevancia de la definición de las limitaciones de la protección y combate a la piratería. Los mecanismos destinados a este fin deben de ser analizados para que sean conformados a los dictámenes de la ley.O presente trabalho evidencia e explica os dilemas e eventuais tendências evolutivas identificados no contexto do Direito de Propriedade Intelectual na contemporaneidade. Ganha destaque a dificuldade de adoção de normas uniformes destinadas a reger as obras multimídias, em face de seu caráter híbrido; e a interoperabilidade, como solução viável para a promoção do equilíbrio entre as ferramentas tecnológicas de proteção aos direitos de autor e o uso privado dos conteúdos digitais. A abordagem norteia-se a partir da idéia de que as obras multimídias exemplificam objeto paradigmático para o Direito de Propriedade Intelectual, pois demonstram a relevância da definição das limitações da proteção e combate à pirataria.
