Resumo: The present course conclusion project, in the form of a scientific article looks to explain, with basis on books, laws and jurisprudence, sport, but mainly football, being considered as a widely accepted part of Brazilian cultural and social patrimony, but with the main focus being on the sports law aspect, as well as its historic and legislative evolution, in addition to its relevancy and pertinence in today’s day and age. Also, this article will explore the professional football athlete, and their work contracts, looking into its specificities and characteristics, with an outlook to the “Pelé Law” (Law n. 9615/1998), and the CLT (Consolidation of Work Laws), with relation to the regulation of the athlete’s work contract. Furthermore, the project will also aim to demonstrate the more specific parts of the contracts, such as the player registration percentages, income, image rights, additional payments, and youth/underage athletes.

Furthermore, the project will also aim to demonstrate the more specific parts of the contracts, such as the player registration percentages, income, image rights, additional payments, and youth/underage athletes.O presente trabalho de conclusão de curso, em formato de artigo científico, visa elucidar, com base em estudos bibliográficos, legislativos, e jurisprudenciais, o esporte, mas nomeadamente, o futebol, enquanto maciçamente aceito como patrimônio cultural e social pátrio, focando no Direito Desportivo brasileiro, a sua evolução histórica e legislativa, relevância, e pertinência contemporânea, mas mais especificamente, explorar a figura do atleta profissional do futebol no âmbito nacional, e os seus contratos de trabalho, e suas especificidades e características, com enfoque especial na aplicabilidade e usos da Lei 9615/98 (Lei Pelé), e as normas da Consolidação das Leis do Trabalho (CLT) no que tange à regulamentação do contrato de trabalho do atleta.
