This present research aims towards the subject of Agrarian Law: Expropriation for the purposes of Agrarian Reform, which will address the beginning of lawful and subtle differences in cases of expropriation by law, focusing on Law No. 4.504/1964, called “Land Statute”. Regarding the topic addressed in the research, the discussion on the field of Agrarian law will be of great relevance for a better understanding of its relationship with expropriation and Agrarian Reform, in view of the social function of private property, being directly linked as one of the requirements for expropriation and state intervention and compliance which is essential. It is important to highlight that expropriation cannot occur in certain cases due to the size of the property and in more specific cases, based on the "Land Statute". However, it should be noted that the expropriated will not be unprotected by the law, as it will bring hypotheses both of financial compensation of the property and improvements made to the property if the present situation occurs. It is also highlighted that there may occur certain cases in which financial settlement will not apply.
