Resumo: The objective of the text is to analyze the teaching professionalization process to work in distance learning courses in Natural Sciences and Mathematics at the Federal Institutes of Education, Science and Technology (IFs) in Brazil. The phenomenological methodology materialized by (a) locating, among all the IFs in Brazil, the courses object of the research; (b) analyzing their institutional arrangements and, (c) analyzing, collating and reflecting, through ideographic and nomothetic analysis, the phenomenon in question. It is concluded that teacher professionalization is the result of initial and continued conscious training and guided by trajectories that reflect on the training process, the work space and its relationship with the desired world.

La metodología fenomenológica materializada por (a) ubicar, entre todos los IF en Brasil, los cursos objeto de la investigación; (b) analizar sus arreglos institucionales y (c) analizar, cotejar y reflejar, a través del análisis ideográfico y nomotético, el fenómeno en cuestión. Se concluye que la profesionalización de los docentes es el resultado de una capacitación consciente inicial y continua y guiada por trayectorias que reflejan el proceso de capacitación, el espacio de trabajo y su relación con el mundo deseado.O objetivo do texto é analisar o processo de profissionalização docente para atuar nos cursos de Licenciatura a Distância em Ciências Naturais e Matemática nos Institutos Federais de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia (IFs) no Brasil. A metodologia, fenomenológica, materializou-se por meio de (a) localizar, entre todos os IFs do Brasil, os cursos objeto da pesquisa; (b) analisar seus ordenamentos institucionais e, (c) analisar, cotejar e refletir, por meio da análise ideográfica e nomotética, o fenômeno em questão.
