Resumo: The objective of the study was to understand what are the main themes of research related to music teaching in high school. To this end, a qualitative research was carried out to analyze the content of 16 articles retrieved in Revista da Abem and in the repositories of Scielo and Capes. The theoretical basis was based on principles referring to the teaching of music in high school. The findings showed that the main themes of academic research on music teaching in high school are: high school students' musical preference; training of high school music teachers and pedagogical proposals; music teaching in high school; legislation on Music Education in High School; and relationships, conceptions and musical culture of high school students.

Para ello, se llevó a cabo una investigación cualitativa para analizar el contenido de 16 artículos recuperados en la Revista da Abem y en los repositorios de Scielo y Capes. La base teórica se basó en principios referentes a la enseñanza de la música en la escuela secundaria. Los hallazgos mostraron que los principales temas de investigación académica sobre la enseñanza de la música en la escuela secundaria son: la preferencia musical de los estudiantes de secundaria; formación de profesores de música de secundaria y propuestas pedagógicas; enseñanza de la música en la escuela secundaria; legislación sobre Educación Musical en la Escuela Secundaria; y relaciones, concepciones y cultura musical de estudiantes de secundaria.O objetivo do estudo foi compreender quais são os principais temas das pesquisas relacionadas ao ensino de música no Ensino Médio. Para tal, foi desenvolvido uma pesquisa qualitativa de análise de conteúdo de 16 artigos recuperados na Revista da Abem e nos repositórios da Scielo e da Capes. A base teórica esteve fundada em princípios referentes ao ensino de música no Ensino Médio.
