The Participation of Federal Institutes in the Internalization of On-campus Higher Education in Brazil

Resumo: This study, first, aims to analyze how the Federal Institutes were integrated in the offer of Higher Education in Brazil. Articulately, it will presents how the process of internalization of vacancies occurred. Creating the Federal Institutes in 2008, the federal government established them as institutions of higher, basic and professional education, promoting the expansion of the number of vacancies in the country. It is a quantitative and qualitative research. Data collection was performed based on information from the National Institute for Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira - INEP, through the Higher Education Census system, from 2008 to 2017. Preliminary results show that the expansion and internalization of vacancies. This contributes to the access to higher education in regions that were not previously attended.

Al mismo tiempo, será presentado como ha sido realizado el proceso de internalización de las vacantes. Al crear los Institutos Federales en 2008, el gobierno los estableció como instituciones de educación superior, básica y profesional, promoviendo la expansión del número de vacantes en el país. Es una investigación cuantitativa y cualitativa. La recopilación de datos se realizó con base en información del Instituto Nacional de Estudios e Investigación Educativa Anísio Teixeira - INEP, a través del sistema del Censo de Educación Superior, de 2008 a 2017. Los resultados preliminares muestran que sucedió la expansión y internalización de vacantes. Esto contribuye al acceso a la educación superior en regiones que no fueron atendidas previamente. Este estudo tem por objetivo primeiro analisar como os Institutos Federais se integraram na oferta da Educação Superior no Brasil. Articuladamente, averiguar-se-á como ocorreu o processo de interiorização das vagas. Ao criar os Institutos Federais no ano de 2008, o governo federal os definiu como instituições de educação superior, básica e profissional, promovendo a ampliação do número de vagas no país. Foi empregada uma pesquisa quanti-qualitativa.
