Inoculation with Bradyrhizobium japonicum associated with nitrogen fertilization in cowpea production in forest soil

Resumo: | Cowpea (Vigna unguiculata L.) is a legume with low yield in the Amapá state, related to inadequate nutritional management, and cultivation can be optimized by inoculating the seeds with nitrogen-fixing bacteria. Thus, the objective was to evaluate the growth and production of cowpea inoculated with Bradyrhizobium japonicum associated with nitrogen fertilization cultivated in forest soil in the municipality of Mazagão, state of Amapá. The experiment was carried out at the Federal University of Amapá, with a completely randomized design, with eight treatments, three replications and two experimental units per plot, consisting of cowpea genotypes (‘Branquinho’ and ‘Sempre Verde’) and four forms of nutritional management (I - bacterial inoculation (B. japonicum, strains semia 5079 and semia 5080) in the seeds; N - nitrogen fertilization (urea); I + N - bacterial inoculant associated with nitrogen fertilization and T - Control, without seed inoculation and without nitrogen fertilization). Plant growth and production were evaluated, and the data were subjected to analysis of variance by the F test up to 5% probability and Tukey test (p<0.05). Of cowpea 'Branquinho' expressed greater vegetative growth and greater production, and inoculation with B. japonicum in the seeds significantly increased the mass of 100 seeds of the Branquinho genotype, with an average of 22.29 g/100 seeds, which is equivalent to a percentage of 12.44% higher than the control. This result confirms an increase in production and seed size, constituting, therefore, an advantageous alternative for use by family farmers in Amapa, in addition to dispensing with nitrogen fertilization. |

El experimento se realizó en la Universidad Federal do Amapá, con un diseño experimental completamente al azar, con ocho tratamientos, tres repeticiones y dos unidades experimentales por parcela, constituido por genotipos de caupí (‘Branquinho’ y ‘Sempre Verde’) y cuatro formas de manejo nutricional (I - inoculación bacteriana (B. japonicum, cepas semia 5079 y semia 5080) en las semillas; N - fertilización nitrogenada (urea); I + N - inoculante bacteriano asociado a fertilización nitrogenada y T - Testigo, sin inoculación en semilla y sin fertilización nitrogenada). Fueron evaluados el crecimiento y la producción de las plantas, y los datos fueron sometidos a análisis de varianza por la prueba F hasta 5% de probabilidad y prueba de Tukey (p<0,05). de caupí 'Branquinho ' expresó mayor crecimiento vegetativo y mayor producción, y la inoculación con B. japonicum en las semillas incrementó significativamente la masa de 100 semillas del genotipo Branquinho, con un promedio de 22,29 g/100 semillas, lo que equivale a un porcentaje de 12,44%. superior al control. Foi avaliado o crescimento das plantas e a produção, sendo os dados submetidos à análise de variância pelo teste F até 5% de probabilidade e teste Tukey (p<0,05). O genótipo de feijão-caupi ‘Branquinho’ expressou maior crescimento vegetativo e maior produção, sendo que a inoculação com B. japonicum nas sementes aumentou significativamente a massa de 100 sementes do genótipo Branquinho, com média de 22, 29 g/100 sementes, o que equivale a um percentual de 12,44% maior que a testemunha.
