Social and scientific knowledge in early childhood: an account of teaching practice in the context of the classroom

Resumo: This article presents an experience report of a project carried out with students of kindergarten of a school in Niterói (RJ), from the continuous training course for teachers, promoted by the Brazilian Chemistry Association (ABQ) and the Niterói City Hall. This project sought to promote science education for children by correlating scientific literacy based on environmental issues. For such, the development of the activities occurred in three moments, in which diverse playful resources were used seeking to contribute in the construction of knowledge and critical sense of these children. The results point to the possibility of uniting science education and citizen education in early childhood education promoted by playful resources, favoring their interaction in activities, as well as a perception of their responsibilities and care for the environment in their childhood.

Con este fin, el desarrollo de actividades tuvo lugar en tres momentos, en los que se utilizaron diversos recursos recreativos, buscando contribuir a la construcción del conocimiento y el sentido crítico de estos niños. Los resultados apuntan a las posibilidades de unirse a la enseñanza de las ciencias y la educación ciudadana en la educación de la primera infancia promovida por los recursos recreativos, favoreciendo su interacción en las actividades, así como la percepción de sus responsabilidades y el cuidado del medio ambiente incluso en la infancia.O presente artigo traz um relato de experiência de um projeto realizado com alunos da educação infantil de uma escola em Niterói (RJ), a partir do curso de formação continuada para professores, promovido pela Associação Brasileira de Química (ABQ) e a prefeitura de Niterói. Neste projeto buscou-se promover o ensino de Ciências para as crianças correlacionando a alfabetização científica a partir de temas ambientais. Para tal, o desenvolvimento das atividades ocorreu em três momentos, em que foram utilizados recursos lúdicos diversos buscando contribuir na construção de conhecimentos e senso crítico destas crianças.
