Resumo: The provision of food for schoolchildren is essential for an adequate development of physical and cognitive functions. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the adequacy of the menus offered to schoolchildren aged 6 to 15 years enrolled in the public municipal network of Teresina - PI. This is a cross-sectional study carried out in 07 schools, through which energy and macronutrients from menus offered during 01 week were evaluated. The adequacy of nutritional recommendations considered the legislation of the National School Feeding Program, according to the age groups of 6 to 10, and 11 to 15 years. The project received authorization from the Municipal Education Secretariat of Teresina (SEMEC) for execution. It was observed that students from 6 to 10 years old and 11 to 15 years old, presented energy adequacy of 100.96% and 114.94%, in that order. In the range of 6 to 10 years, the adequacy of carbohydrates was slightly higher than that recommended by the PNAE, differing from lipids, which showed deficient values. The percentage of proteins assumed significantly high values, being 135.53% and 182.35% for students aged 6 to 10 and 11 to 15 years, respectively. Therefore, the need for continuous monitoring is evident, as well as for the planning and distribution of school meals with efforts to reach the minimum daily recommendation.

Por lo tanto, este estudio tuvo como objetivo evaluar la idoneidad de los menús ofrecidos a escolares de 6 a 15 años inscritos en la red pública municipal de Teresina - PI. Este es un estudio transversal realizado en 07 escuelas, a través del cual se evaluaron la energía y los macronutrientes de los menús ofrecidos durante la semana 01. La idoneidad de las recomendaciones nutricionales consideró la legislación del Programa Nacional de Alimentación Escolar, según los grupos de edad de 6 a 10 y de 11 a 15 años. El proyecto recibió autorización de la Secretaría Municipal de Educación de Teresina (SEMEC) para su ejecución. Se observó que los estudiantes de 6 a 10 años y de 11 a 15 años presentaban una adecuación energética del 100.96% y 114.94%, en ese orden. En el rango de 6 a 10 años, la adecuación de los carbohidratos fue ligeramente mayor que la recomendada por el PNAE, que difiere de los lípidos, que mostraron valores deficientes. El porcentaje de proteínas asumió valores significativamente altos, siendo 135.53% y 182.35% para estudiantes de 6 a 10 y 11 a 15 años, respectivamente. Por lo tanto, la necesidad de un monitoreo continuo es evidente, así como para la planificación y distribución de comidas escolares con esfuerzos para alcanzar la recomendación diaria mínima.O fornecimento da alimentação para escolares é essencial para um adequado desenvolvimento das funções físicas e cognitivas. Logo, esse estudo objetivou avaliar a adequação dos cardápios ofertados aos escolares de 6 a 15 anos matriculados na rede pública municipal de Teresina – PI. Trata-se de estudo transversal realizado em 07 escolas, pelo qual foram avaliados energia e macronutrientes de cardápios oferecidos durante 01 semana. A adequação das recomendações nutricionais considerou a legislação do Programa Nacional de Alimentação Escolar, segundo as faixas etárias de 6 a 10, e 11 a 15 anos. O projeto recebeu autorização da Secretaria Municipal de Educação de Teresina (SEMEC) para execução. Observou-se que escolares de 6 a 10 anos e 11 a 15, apresentaram adequação energética de 100.96% e 114.94%, nesta ordem. Na faixa de 6 a 10 anos, a adequação de carboidratos foi levemente superior ao recomendado pelo PNAE, diferindo dos lipídios que apresentaram valores deficientes. O percentual de proteínas assumiu valores expressivamente elevados, sendo 135.53% e 182.35% para escolares de 6 a 10 e 11 a 15 anos, respectivamente.
