Resumo: This article proposes to resume the idea of a counter-education, proposing a reflection on the power of theater for historical literacy, from the understanding of its concept, importance, emergence and possibilities. If in 2013 the philosopher Márcia Tiburi proposed a counter-education for realizing that education was reduced to information and learning technologies as a subservience to the ideology of capital, the current situation of exacerbation of ignorance, driven by digital media, neo-fascist growth, and attacks by conservative groups on education, demands an ethical critique of today and the proposition of another education that breaks with the neoliberal model, of humiliation and relegation of education to merchandise. In this sense, this article seeks to reflect on the potential of theater as a language for historical literacy, arguing that both historical literacy and theatrical practice, in a link to confront the education promoted by neoliberal rationality, are coherent with a proposal engaged with the counter-education, which promotes a liberating education.

Research, Society and Development2022-09-11info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/3440310.33448/rsd-v11i12.34403Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 No. 12; e201111234403Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 Núm. 12; e201111234403Research, Society and Development; v. 11 n. 12; e2011112344032525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/34403/28982Copyright (c) 2022 Juliana Fraga; Marcelo Leandro Eichlerhttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessFraga, JulianaEichler, Marcelo Leandro 2022-09-26T11:56:08Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/34403Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:49:42.947685Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false
