Resumo: The pandemic caused by the new coronavirus - COVID-19, declared by the World Health Organization since the beginning of March 2020, has led government officials from around the world to adopt public policies to minimize the progress and impacts of the disease. In the context of Brazilian education, the suspension of face-to-face classes and their consequent replacement by non-face-to-face activities, through remote teaching, was decreed. The proposal for distance education, at all levels of education, has been discussed as a massive solution while the public health emergency lasts. In this context, this qualitative study aims to discuss the dialogical relationships between teaching and reader identity from the perspective of digital culture in light of the recommendations of the Ministry of Education, with the purpose of reflecting on the importance of traditional and digital literacies for effective quality of the teaching and learning process in times of social isolation.
