Motivation from the Viewpoint of Expectation Theory: A Case Study in a Military Hospital

Resumo: This research aimed to identify the profile and expectations of civil servants (civil and military) in the Administrative Division of a Military Hospital in Santa Maria, based on the Theory of Expectation. Such an approach is justified by the need to establish the relationship between the Theory of Expectation and its applicability, through a case study at the Military Health Organization, interviews were conducted with semi-structured questions. In general, it was evidenced: satisfaction with the profession; career changes that impacted expectations; the perception of the benefits offered by the institution; the alignment of the institutional mission with the work performed; recognition of work by managers, colleagues and the institution; the rewards and motivation for the work are directly related to expectations, difficulties, external and mission values; in order to lead the employees to a result that takes into account the rewards directed to their personal goals.

Tal enfoque se justifica por la necesidad de establecer la relación entre la Teoría de la Expectativa y su aplicabilidad, a través de un estudio de caso en la Organización de Salud Militar, se realizaron entrevistas con preguntas semiestructuradas. En general, se evidenció: satisfacción con la profesión; cambios de carrera que impactaron las expectativas; la percepción de los beneficios ofrecidos por la institución; la alineación de la misión institucional con el trabajo realizado; reconocimiento del trabajo por parte de gerentes, colegas y la institución; las recompensas y la motivación para el trabajo están directamente relacionadas con las expectativas, dificultades, valores externos y de misión; para llevar a los empleados a un resultado que tenga en cuenta las recompensas dirigidas a sus objetivos personales.Esta pesquisa objetivou identificar o perfil e as expectativas dos servidores públicos e civis da Divisão Administrativa do Hospital Militar de Santa Maria, a partir da Teoria da Expectativa. Essa abordagem justifica a necessidade de estabelecer uma relação entre a Teoria da Expectativa e a sua aplicabilidade, por meio de um estudo de caso da Organização Militar de Saúde, durante entrevistas com perguntas semiestruturadas.
