Continuing education for the professional development of teachers: perspectives from experiences with remote teaching

Resumo: This article is a cut of a research being developed in the Master's degree program in Teaching of Sciences and Humanities - PPGECH/UFAM, and presents the result of one of the objectives proposed in the study which is to analyze the perception of teachers about the need for continuing education facing the challenges of using digital technologies in teaching practices in emergency remote education. The study involved 7 (seven) teachers from the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Amazonas - IFAM, Campus in the city of Humaitá. Data were collected by means of a GoogleForms form. The results indicate that the search for continuing education for the performance in the context of remote teaching motivated by the need to use technological resources in online classes was a demarcating point for the development of the pedagogical practices of teachers participating in the research who, on their own initiative, participated in events, courses and lectures to solve or minimize their needs in a short period of time. However, it was also evident that traditional teaching still persisted on the part of those who were resistant to a new way of being and doing education in the context of remote teaching.

El estudio involucró a 7 (siete) profesores del Instituto Federal de Educación, Ciencia y Tecnología de Amazonas - IFAM, Campus de la ciudad de Humaitá. Los datos se recogieron mediante un formulario de GoogleForms. Los resultados indican que la búsqueda de formación continua para el desempeño en el contexto de la enseñanza a distancia motivada por la necesidad de utilizar recursos tecnológicos en las clases en línea fue un punto de demarcación para el desarrollo de las prácticas pedagógicas de los profesores participantes en la investigación que por iniciativa propia participaron en eventos, cursos y conferencias para remediar o minimizar sus necesidades en un corto espacio de tiempo. Sin embargo, también se evidenció la persistencia de la enseñanza tradicional por parte de quienes se resisten a una nueva forma de ser y hacer educación en el contexto de la teledocencia.Este artigo é um recorte de uma pesquisa em desenvolvimento no mestrado do Programa de Pós-graduação em Ensino de Ciências e Humanidades - PPGECH/UFAM, e apresenta o resultado de um dos objetivos propostos no estudo que é analisar a percepção dos professores sobre a necessidade de formação continuada frente aos desafios do uso das tecnologias digitais nas práticas pedagógicas no ensino remoto emergencial. O estudo envolveu 7 (sete) professores do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Amazonas - IFAM, Campus do município de Humaitá. Os dados foram recolhidos por meio de formulário do GoogleForms. Os resultados apontam que a busca por formação continuada para a atuação no contexto do ensino remoto motivado pela necessidade do uso de recursos tecnológicos nas aulas online foi um ponto demarcador para o desenvolvimento das práticas pedagógicas de professores participantes da pesquisa que por iniciativa própria participaram de eventos, cursos e palestras para que sanassem ou minimizassem suas necessidades em curto espaço de tempo.
