Reflections and perspectives for constituting the identity of students in Youth and Adult Education

Resumo: | This paper presents an excerpt from a research developed in the Degree Course in Natural Sciences, at the Federal University of Pampa - Campus Dom Pedrito, on identity construction of students in Youth and Adult Education (YAE). It was aimed to figure out both YAE student life stories and their process of identity construction and reconstruction. Methodologically it was characterized as a case study, with an exploratory/explanatory character and a qualitative approach. It had as locus the Supervised Internship in high school, and was carried out in a public educational institution of a municipality in the region of Campanha from Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil. The research subjects were the 25 students from the Totality Nine of YAE. It was found that the majority were under 35 years old, pursuing the modality in search of insertion in the labor market or to improve employment, dream of going to university and attribute to the family a strong social bond. It was concluded that the speeches of YAE students represented in the texts express understanding about themselves, of others about them, and expectations about the future, being both, school and YAE, a strong divider between past and future. |

El objetivo fue comprender las historias de vida de los estudiantes de EJA y su proceso de construcción y reconstrucción de identidad. Metodológicamente, se caracterizó como un estudio de caso, con un carácter exploratorio / explicativo y un enfoque cualitativo. Su locus fue la Pasantía Supervisada en la escuela secundaria, realizada en una institución educativa pública de un municipio de la región de la Campaña Rio Grande do Sul. Los sujetos de investigación fueron 25 estudiantes de los nueve de la EJA. Se encontró que la mayoría tenían menos de 35 años, persiguiendo la modalidad en busca de inserción en el mercado laboral o para mejorar sus empleos, sueñan con ir a la universidad y atribuyen un fuerte vínculo social a la familia. Se concluyó que los discursos de los alumnos de EJA, representados en los textos, expresan la comprensión sobre sí mismos, la percepción de los demás sobre ellos y las expectativas sobre el futuro, siendo la escuela y EJA un fuerte divisor entre el pasado y futuro.Este artigo apresenta um recorte de uma pesquisa desenvolvida no Curso de Licenciatura em Ciências da Natureza, da Universidade Federal do Pampa - Campus Dom Pedrito, sobre a construção identitária dos/as discentes da Educação de Jovens e Adultos (EJA). Objetivou-se compreender as histórias de vida dos/as estudantes da EJA e o seu processo de construção e reconstrução identitária. Metodologicamente caracterizou-se como um estudo de caso, de caráter exploratório/explicativo e abordagem qualitativa. Teve como lócus o Estágio Supervisionado de regência no Ensino Médio, realizado em uma Instituição de Ensino da rede pública de um município da região da Campanha do Rio Grande do Sul. Os sujeitos da pesquisa foram 25 estudantes da totalidade nove da EJA. Constatou-se que a maioria tinha menos de 35 anos, cursavam a modalidade em busca da inserção no mercado de trabalho ou para melhorar de emprego, sonham em cursar a universidade e atribuem à família forte vínculo social.
