Challenges for the promotion of Integral Education: experiences developed by cities in Rio de Janeiro

Resumo: This study reflects on full-time schools in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The social and historical conditions that determine it are addressed, in addition to the challenges that the school, management team and faculty face in the face of contemporary demand. A qualitative research was carried out, and as support, interviews were carried out using forms provided by the Google Forms platform. 4 managers from 3 schools located in the state of Rio de Janeiro and 9 teachers from the same schools participated. The objective of this study was to understand what are the main challenges of schools that had to adhere to the full-time journey and how these professionals are placed regarding their work in the education network in which they work, since they are responsible for the organization of the school routine and determination of teaching work. It was found that, among the various difficulties faced by full-time institutions, the main ones are: precarious teaching, school linked to social protection and lack of physical structure. It is known that public education in Brazil is taking slow steps towards the desired future, however it is reinforced that academic research and the involvement of society are of paramount importance to achieve improvements within school public policies.

Se abordan las condiciones sociales e históricas que lo determinan, además de los desafíos que la escuela, el equipo directivo y el cuerpo docente enfrentan ante la demanda contemporánea. Se realizó una investigación cualitativa y como soporte se realizaron entrevistas a través de formularios proporcionados por la plataforma Google Forms. Participaron 4 gerentes de 3 escuelas ubicadas en el estado de Rio de Janeiro y 9 maestros de las mismas escuelas. El objetivo de este estudio fue comprender cuáles son los principales desafíos de las escuelas que debían adherirse al itinerario de tiempo completo y cómo se ubican estos profesionales en cuanto a su labor en la red educativa en la que laboran, ya que son los responsables de la organización de la rutina escolar y determinación del trabajo docente. Se encontró que, entre las diversas dificultades que enfrentan las instituciones de tiempo completo, las principales son: enseñanza precaria, escolaridad vinculada a la protección social y falta de estructura física. Se sabe que la educación pública en Brasil está dando pasos lentos hacia el futuro deseado, sin embargo se refuerza que la investigación académica y la participación de la sociedad son de suma importancia para lograr mejoras dentro de las políticas públicas escolares.Este estudo traz uma reflexão sobre as escolas de tempo integral no estado do Rio de Janeiro. São abordadas as condições sociais e históricas que a determinam, além dos desafios que a escola, equipe gestora e o corpo docente enfrentam diante da demanda contemporânea. Foi realizada uma pesquisa de cunho qualitativo, e como suporte, foram realizadas entrevistas por meio de formulários disponibilizados pela plataforma Google Forms. Participaram 4 gestores de 3 escolas localizadas no estado do Rio de Janeiro e 9 professores dessas mesmas escolas. O objetivo deste estudo foi compreender quais são os principais desafios das escolas que tiveram de aderir a jornada do Tempo Integral e como esses profissionais se colocam quanto ao seu trabalho na rede de ensino em que atuam, visto que são responsáveis pela organização da rotina escolar e determinação do trabalho docente. Verificou-se que, dentre as diversas dificuldades enfrentadas pelas instituições de tempo integral, as principais são: precarização do trabalho docente, escola vinculada à proteção social e falta de estrutura física.
