Resumo: | Objective: To present the importance of research in the academic life of students in the undergraduate nursing course at a public university in the interior of Amazonas. Methodology: This is an experience report, resulting from the experiences of students of the Undergraduate Nursing Course (CGE) of the Institute of Health and Biotechnology (ISB) of the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM). This report describes an experience about the participation of students in the institutional program of scholarships for scientific initiation - PIBIC. In addition, research was developed in the modality Institutional Program of Scholarships for Extension (PIBEX) and Program Curricular Activity of Extension (PACE). The research and activities were developed during the bachelor's degree course in nursing at the ISB/UFAM Campus in the municipality of Coari in the interior of Amazonas. Results: The scientific initiation and university extension were fundamental in the development of students in academic production, adding new knowledge and improving their skills with research. In addition, they produced important contributions to science and showed the great potential of developing investigations as undergraduates. Final Considerations: In view of this, it is important to emphasize how fundamental research is in the academic environment with undergraduates; the university is not merely an institution of higher education courses, but also of promoting and encouraging the development of research and extension through existing programs. Thus, allowing the advancement of science through new research being developed by academics. |

Metodología: Se trata de un relato de experiencia, fruto de las vivencias de los discentes del Curso de Graduación en Enfermería (CGE) del Instituto de Salud y Biotecnología (ISB) de la Universidad Federal de Amazonas (UFAM). Este informe describe una experiencia sobre la participación de estudiantes en el programa institucional de becas de iniciación científica - PIBIC. Además, se desarrollaron investigaciones en la modalidad Programa Institucional de Becas de Extensión (PIBEX) y Programa de Actividades Curriculares de Extensión (PACE). La investigación y las actividades se desarrollaron durante la graduación en el curso de licenciatura en enfermería en el Campus ISB / UFAM en el municipio de Coari en el interior de Amazonas. Resultados: La iniciación científica y la extensión universitaria, fueron fundamentales en el desarrollo de los estudiantes en la producción académica, añadiendo nuevos conocimientos y mejorando sus habilidades de investigación. Además, produjeron importantes contribuciones para la ciencia y mostraron el gran potencial para desarrollar investigaciones mientras se graduaban. Consideraciones finales: En vista de esto, es importante destacar lo fundamental que es la investigación en el ámbito académico con los estudiantes de grado, la universidad no es simplemente una institución de cursos de educación superior, sino también para promover y fomentar el desarrollo de la investigación y la extensión a través de los programas existentes. De este modo, se permite el avance de la ciencia a través de las nuevas investigaciones que desarrollan los académicos.Objetivo: A apresentar a importância da pesquisa na vida acadêmica do discente no curso de graduação em enfermagem numa universidade pública do interior do Amazonas. Metodologia: Trata-se de um relato de experiência, fruto das vivências de discentes do Curso de Graduação Enfermagem (CGE) do Instituto de Saúde e Biotecnologia (ISB) da Universidade Federal do Amazonas (UFAM). Este relato discorre uma vivência acerca da participação de discentes no programa institucional de bolsas de iniciação científica — PIBIC. Além disso, foram desenvolvidas pesquisas na modalidade Programa Institucional de Bolsas de Extensão (PIBEX) e Programa Atividade Curriculares de Extensão (PACE). As pesquisas e atividades foram desenvolvidas durante a graduação no curso bacharelado em enfermagem no Campus ISB/UFAM no município de Coari, no interior do Amazonas. Resultado: A iniciação científica e extensão universitária, foram fundamentais no desenvolvimento dos discentes na produção acadêmica, agregando novos conhecimentos e aprimorando suas habilidades com a pesquisa. Além disso, produziram contribuições importantes para a ciência e mostrando o grande potencial de se desenvolver investigações enquanto graduando. Considerações Finais: Frente a isto, é importante ressaltar o quão fundamental é a pesquisa no ambiente acadêmico com graduandos, a universidade não é meramente instituição de cursos superior, mas também de promover e incentivar o desenvolvimento da pesquisa e extensão por meios dos programas existentes.
