Didactic games in teaching and learning Science and Biology: teaching concepts and practices

Resumo: | Teaching Science and Biology has demanded much more from the teacher than the mastery of content, because, even if this factor is important, the way they are being presented to students needs to be discussed. This research sought to understand the conceptions of science and biology teachers about the use of educational games in the school context. A qualitative approach of a descriptive nature was used, with the application of a questionnaire with two Biology teachers who teach in two schools in the state public school system of Alagoas, one in the city of Rio Largo and the other in the city of Maceió. Through textual discursive analysis, the results reveal the knowledge of teachers about the importance of using didactic games in science and biology teaching, but this rarely happens, which indicates the need to advance in discussions about the need to diversify teaching practice creating conditions for the construction of knowledge by different resources, among them, the didactic game. |

Esta investigación trató de entender las concepciones de los profesores de ciencias y biología sobre el uso de los juegos educativos en el contexto escolar. Se utilizó un enfoque cualitativo de carácter descriptivo, con la aplicación de un cuestionario con dos profesores de biología que enseñan en dos escuelas del sistema escolar público estatal de Alagoas, una en la ciudad de Río Largo y la otra en la ciudad de Maceió. A través del análisis discursivo textual, los resultados revelan el conocimiento de los profesores sobre la importancia de utilizar juegos didácticos en la enseñanza de las ciencias y la biología, pero esto rara vez ocurre, lo que indica la necesidad de avanzar en las discusiones sobre la necesidad de diversificar la práctica de la enseñanza creando condiciones para la construcciónEnsinar Ciências e Biologia tem demandado do professor muito mais do que o domínio dos conteúdos, pois, mesmo que esse fator seja importante, a maneira como aqueles estão sendo apresentados aos estudantes precisa ser discutida. Essa pesquisa buscou compreender as concepções de professores de Ciências e Biologia sobre a utilização dos jogos didáticos no contexto escolar. Utilizou-se uma abordagem qualitativa de natureza descritiva, com a aplicação de questionário com dois professores de Biologia que lecionam em duas escolas da rede pública estadual de ensino de Alagoas, uma na cidade de Rio Largo e outra na cidade de Maceió.
