School assistance for people with intellectual disabilities: beyond the letter of the law

Resumo: This text analyzes the schooling process of young people and adults who have intellectual disabilities in Youth and Adult Education, based on data on school attendance and research carried out in the last 12 years, available at Capes Theses and Dissertations. To be carried out, the research consisted of a bibliographic nature and the research findings were discussed in a qualitative way, based on the public policies in force in Brazil. The data reveal that the Brazilian educational system is not yet an inclusive space par excellence. In addition, few dissertations and theses produced in the last 12 years were dedicated to discussing educational work with people who have intellectual disabilities in EJA.

Para ser realizada, la investigación tuvo un carácter bibliográfico y los resultados de la investigación fueron discutidos de manera cualitativa, con base en las políticas públicas vigentes en Brasil. Los datos revelan que el sistema educativo brasileño aún no es un espacio inclusivo por excelencia. Además, pocas disertaciones y tesis producidas en los últimos 12 años se dedicaron a discutir el trabajo educativo con personas con discapacidad intelectual en EJA.O presente texto tem por objetivo analisar o processo de escolarização de jovens e adultos que têm deficiência intelectual na Educação de Jovens e Adultos - EJA, a partir dos dados do atendimento escolar e das pesquisas desenvolvidas nos últimos 12 anos, disponíveis no Banco de Teses e Dissertações da Capes. Para ser levada a efeito a pesquisa se constituiu de cunho bibliográfico e os achados da pesquisa foram discutidos de forma qualitativa, a partir das políticas públicas vigentes no Brasil. Os dados revelam que o sistema educacional brasileiro ainda não se constitui em um espaço inclusivo por excelência.
