Assessment of trait-anxiety and state-anxiety levels of nursing students at a university center during the Covid-19 pandemic

Resumo: Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate the levels of trait-anxiety and state-anxiety of nursing students at a university center during the Covid-19 pandemic. Methodology: This is a cross-sectional, quantitative, qualitative and convenience sampling study. We used the Trait Anxiety and State Anxiety- STAI (Spielberger, Gorsuch and Lushene, 1970) questionnaire as a research instrument, a questionnaire composed of two Likert scales where the response varies from 1 to 4. Results: There was adherence to the research of 138 students of the nursing course, where we concluded that students from Group 1 and Group 2 had higher levels of state anxiety and trait anxiety than Group 3. Conclusion: There was an exacerbation in the anxiety levels of nursing students due to the proposed changes in the teaching, becoming hybrid.

Metodología: Se trata de un estudio transversal, cuantitativo, cualitativo y de muestreo por conveniencia. Se utilizó como instrumento de investigación el cuestionario Trait Anxiety and State Anxiety- STAI (Spielberger, Gorsuch y Lushene, 1970), cuestionario compuesto por dos escalas Likert donde la respuesta varía de 1 a 4. Resultados: Hubo adherencia a la investigación de 138 estudiantes del curso de enfermería, donde se concluyó que los estudiantes del Grupo 1 y Grupo 2 tenían niveles de ansiedad estado y ansiedad rasgo superiores al Grupo 3. Conclusión: Hubo una exacerbación en los niveles de ansiedad de los estudiantes de enfermería debido a los cambios propuestos en la enseñanza, volviéndose híbrida.Objetivo: O objetivo desse estudo foi avaliar os níveis de ansiedade-traço e ansiedade-estado de estudantes de enfermagem de um centro universitário durante a pandemia da Covid-19. Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo de abordagem transversal, quantitativo, qualitativo e de amostragem por conveniência. Utilizamos como instrumento de pesquisa o questionário de ansiedade-traço e ansiedade-estado- IDATE (Spielberger, Gorsuch e Lushene, 1970), questionário composto por duas escalas likert onde a resposta varia de 1 a 4. Resultados: Houve adesão a pesquisa de 138 discentes do curso de enfermagem, onde concluímos que alunos do Grupo 1 e Grupo 2 apresentaram índices de ansiedade-estado e ansiedade-traço maiores que o Grupo 3.
