Resumo: There are currently a number of therapies for the treatment of Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in the field of alternative complementary medicine (CAM), however their scientific validations are below expectations. Based on this reality, this article proposes to problematize the consistency of the association between the exclusion therapy of gluten and casein from the nutritional routine of the autistic person and the improvement of gastrointestinal symptoms and characteristic traits of autism, which constitutes the basis for this type of indication. approach to these individuals.
