Resumo: Objective: to describe the perception of parents of children admitted to the Intensive Care Unit about the unit's routines. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review of literature carried out in the following databases / databases: Science direct, National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health of the USA (PUBMED), Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS) and Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE). Subsequently, the material was processed by the Iramuteq software, using Reinert's analysis. Result: The total number of articles found in the review were 24 articles, which after analyzed emerged the following themes: The Intensive Care Unit as an environment not understood by the caregivers of children admitted to the unit; The lack of information about the child's environment and clinical condition to relatives; The importance of means that subside and improve communication between professionals and parents. Conclusion: Family members described the ICU as a place with excessive standards and procedures where the multiprofessional team often does not describe what the parents' functions are in the unit.

Metodología: Esta es una revisión integradora de la literatura realizada en las siguientes bases de datos / bases de datos: Science direct, National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health of the USA (PUBMED), Latin America and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS) y Sistema de análisis y recuperación de literatura médica en línea (MEDLINE). Resultado: el número total de artículos encontrados en la revisión fue de 24 artículos, que luego de analizados surgieron los siguientes temas: La Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos como un entorno no entendido por los cuidadores de niños ingresados ​​en la unidad; La falta de información sobre el entorno del niño y la condición clínica de los familiares; La importancia de los medios que disminuyen y mejoran la comunicación entre profesionales y padres. Conclusión: Los miembros de la familia describieron la UCI como un lugar con un exceso de reglas y procedimientos donde el equipo multidisciplinario a menudo no describe cuáles son las funciones de los padres en la unidad.Objetivo: descrever a percepção de pais de crianças internadas em Unidade de Terapia Intensiva sobre as rotinas da unidade. Metodologia: Trata-se de pesquisa bibliográfica do tipo revisão integrativa de literatura realizado nas bases/bancos de dados: Science direct, National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health dos EUA (PUBMED), Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS) e Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE).  Posteriormente o material foi processado pelo software Iramuteq, utilizando a análise de Reinert. Resultado: O total de artigos encontrados na revisão foram 24 artigos, os quais após analisados emergiram as seguintes temáticas: A unidade de Terapia Intensiva como um ambiente não compreendido pelos cuidadores de crianças internadas na unidade; A carência de informação sobre o ambiente e condição clínica da criança aos parentes; A importância de meios que subisidem e melhorem a comunicação entre profissionais e pais.
