The teaching-learning of mathematics being fundamental to learn biology in high school from the teacher's perspective

Resumo: The subjects of this investigation were 10 teachers of the disciplines of Biology and Mathematics from schools in the municipality of Guarantã do Norte - MT, working in primary and secondary education of basic education, in the second half of 2020. Data were collected via an online questionnaire with open questions and closed, which allowed a qualitative analysis that made it possible to describe the relationships from the teachers' point of view between the teaching-learning of Mathematics and the learning of Biology in high school. Through the analysis of the teachers' answers to the questionnaires, it was possible to identify that these professionals recognize the relationship between the teaching-learning of Mathematics and the learning of Biology in high school, in addition, teachers characterize the relationship between these disciplines as very important for students' learning. However, although there is recognition of the importance of this relationship, it was possible to verify that there are difficulties on the part of the students and, sometimes, even the teachers in mastering the mathematical contents, which can make the teaching-learning process of Biology difficult. Thus, it was possible to conclude that from the teacher's point of view, there is an important relationship between the teaching-learning of Mathematics and the learning of Biology in high school, since previous knowledge of Mathematics is necessary for the learning of several areas of Biology. Thus, difficulties associated with the teaching-learning of Mathematics can represent damage to the general learning of the student, including in the discipline of Biology.

Los datos fueron recolectados a través de una encuesta en línea cuestionario con preguntas abiertas y cerradas, que permitió un análisis cualitativo que permitió describir las relaciones desde el punto de vista de los docentes entre la enseñanza-aprendizaje de las matemáticas y el aprendizaje de la Biología en el bachillerato. A través del análisis de las respuestas de los docentes a los cuestionarios, fue posible identificar que estos profesionales reconocen la relación entre la enseñanza-aprendizaje de las matemáticas y el aprendizaje de la Biología en la enseñanza media, además, los docentes caracterizan la relación entre estas disciplinas como muy importante para el aprendizaje de los estudiantes. Sin embargo, aunque se reconoce la importancia de esta relación, se pudo constatar que existen dificultades por parte de los estudiantes y, en ocasiones, incluso de los docentes en el dominio de los contenidos matemáticos, lo que puede dificultar el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de Biología difícil. Así, se pudo concluir que desde el punto de vista del docente, existe una relación importante entre la enseñanza-aprendizaje de las matemáticas y el aprendizaje de la Biología en el bachillerato, ya que el conocimiento previo de las Matemáticas es necesario para el aprendizaje de varias areas de la Biología. Así, las dificultades asociadas a la enseñanza-aprendizaje de las matemáticas pueden representar un perjuicio para el aprendizaje general del estudiante, incluso en la disciplina de Biología.Os sujeitos desta investigação foram 10 docentes das disciplinas de biologia e matemática de escolas do município de Guarantã do Norte – MT, atuantes no ensino fundamental e médio da educação básica, no segundo semestre de 2020. Os dados foram coletados via questionário online com perguntas abertas e fechadas, que permitiram uma análise qualitativa que possibilitou descrever as relações sob a ótica dos professores entre o ensino-aprendizagem de Matemática e a aprendizagem de Biologia no ensino médio. Através da análise das respostas dos professores aos questionários, foi possível identificar que estes profissionais reconhecem a relação existente entre o ensino-aprendizagem da Matemática e o aprendizado de biologia no ensino médio, ademais os docentes caracterizam a relação entre essas disciplinas como de muita importância para o aprendizado dos alunos. Porém embora haja o reconhecimento da importância dessa relação, foi possível verificar que existem dificuldades da parte dos alunos e, por vezes, até mesmo dos professores em dominar os conteúdos matemáticos, o que pode dificultar o processo de ensino-aprendizagem da Biologia. Desse modo, foi possível concluir que sob a ótica do professor, existe uma importante relação entre o ensino-aprendizagem da Matemática e o aprendizado de Biologia no ensino médio, já que prévios conhecimentos de Matemática são necessários para o aprendizado de diversas áreas da Biologia.
