The importance of nurses in coping with Covid-19 and the legacy of the Nursing Now campaign in this pandemic scenario

Resumo: Introduction: This article aims to highlight the importance of nurses' role in combating and containing the covid-19 pandemic and the legacy left by the Nursing Now campaign, implemented in the 2018 - 2020 triennium and extended until the end of June 2021. The occurrence of the covid-19 pandemic is a milestone in this campaign, which has given rise to debates and paradigm shifts, taking on the task of having an emblematic character in the training, perception, recognition and appreciation of nurses around the world – protagonists of the struggle for healing and health in the current situation of covid-19. Objective: To verify the difficulties encountered by nurses during the pandemic, assess the impact of the Nursing Now campaign and present possible solutions. Methodology: Systematic research, involving consultation of publications already carried out in electronic media, books and articles in journals. Results and Discussion: Nurses are in the front row in the treatment of covid-19 cases, facing serious implications for their working conditions and personal safety to be recognized. Conclusion: The Nursing team needs to act with more autonomy, with well-structured theoretical and methodological foundations so that it can advance in the analyzes and in the ability to increase and humanize access to health care. The pandemic came to teach that mental health is a priority over physical health, as a healthy and balanced, strong and well-informed mind is allied in the process of treating and curing physical diseases and to face all individual, regional and regional difficulties and obstacles World.

Objetivo: Verificar las dificultades encontradas por los enfermeros durante la pandemia, evaluar el impacto de la campaña Nursing Now y presentar posibles soluciones. Metodología: Investigación sistemática, involucrando la consulta de publicaciones ya realizadas en medios electrónicos, libros y artículos en revistas. Resultados y Discusión: Las enfermeras se encuentran en primera fila en el tratamiento de los casos de covid-19, enfrentando serias implicaciones para sus condiciones de trabajo y seguridad personal a ser reconocidas. Conclusión: El equipo de Enfermería necesita actuar con más autonomía, con fundamentos teóricos y metodológicos bien estructurados para que pueda avanzar en los análisis y en la capacidad de ampliar y humanizar el acceso a la atención en salud. La pandemia vino a enseñar que la salud mental es una prioridad sobre la salud física, pues una mente sana y equilibrada, fuerte y bien informada es aliada en el proceso de tratamiento y curación de enfermedades físicas y para enfrentar todas las dificultades y obstáculos individuales, regionales y mundiais.Introdução: Este artigo apresenta como objetivo evidenciar a importância da atuação do enfermeiro no combate e contenção da pandemia da covid-19 e o legado deixado pela campanha Nursing Now, implantada no triênio 2018 – 2020 e prorrogada até final de junho de 2021. A ocorrência da pandemia da covid-19 constitui um marco nessa campanha, a qual suscitou debates e dimudanças de paradigmas, incumbindo-se de ter um caráter emblemático na formação, na percepção, no reconhecimento e na valorização dos enfermeiros em todo o mundo – protagonistas da luta pela cura e pela saúde na atual conjuntura da covid-19. Objetivo: Verificar as dificuldades encontradas pelos enfermeiros durante a pandemia, avaliar o impacto da campanha Nursing Now e apresentar possíveis soluções. Metodologia: Pesquisa sistemática, envolvendo consulta a publicações já realizadas em meios eletrônicos, livros e artigos em periódicos. Resultados e Discussão: Os enfermeiros estão na primeira fila do tratamento de casos da covid-19, enfrentando sérias implicações para que suas condições de trabalho e sua segurança pessoal sejam reconhecidas. Conclusão: A equipe da Enfermagem precisa ter uma atuação com mais autonomia, com alicerces teóricos e metodológicos bem estruturados para que possa avançar nas análises e na capacidade de incrementar e humanizar o acesso à atenção à saúde.
