The effects of Burnout Syndrome on nursing professionals during the first year of the Covid-19 Pandemic

Resumo: | Nurses work long hours, face great dilemmas and ambiguous feelings on a daily basis, which in itself generate stresses that, depending on the individuals, can evolve into states that interfere with their well-being, an interference demonstrated in the study when asked about the impact of Covid-19 pandemic at work; 24 (77.42%) said they felt a great impact, 6 (19.35%) said they felt an intermediate impact and 1 (3.23%) said they had little impact; thus, the data show that the Covid-19 pandemic was an aggravating factor in the addition of stressors that facilitate the development of Burnout syndrome. The study aims to understand which factors favor the development of Burnout syndrome in nursing professionals. The present study is an exploratory and descriptive research, with quali-quantitative analysis, with the population of nursing professionals from the eight Basic Health Units, in the city of Guaraí-TO. |

The present study is an exploratory and descriptive research, with quali-quantitative analysis, with the population of nursing professionals from the eight Basic Health Units, in the city of Guaraí-TO.Los enfermeros trabajan largas jornadas, enfrentan diariamente grandes dilemas y sentimientos ambiguos, que en sí mismos generan tensiones que, dependiendo de los individuos, pueden evolucionar a estados que interfieren en su bienestar, interferencia demostrada en el estudio cuando se les preguntó sobre el impacto la pandemia de Covid-19 en el trabajo; 24 (77,42%) dijeron sentir un impacto grande, 6 (19,35%) dijeron sentir un impacto intermedio y 1 (3,23%) dijo que tuvieron poco impacto; así, los datos muestran que la pandemia de Covid-19 fue un factor agravante en la suma de estresores que facilitan el desarrollo del síndrome de Burnout. El estudio tiene como objetivo comprender qué factores favorecen el desarrollo del síndrome de Burnout en profesionales de enfermería. El presente estudio es una investigación exploratoria y descriptiva, con análisis cuali-cuantitativo, con la población de profesionales de enfermería de las ocho Unidades Básicas de Salud, en la ciudad de Guaraí-TO.Os enfermeiros percorrem longas jornadas de trabalho, enfrentam grandes dilemas e sentimentos ambíguos diariamente, o que por si só geram estresses que a depender dos indivíduos podem evoluir para estados aos quais interferem no seu bem-estar, interferência demonstrada no estudo quando questionados acerca do impacto da pandemia da Covid-19 no trabalho; 24 (77,42%) afirmaram ter sentido um grande impacto, 6 (19,35%) disseram ter sentido um impacto intermediário e 1 (3,23%) pouco impacto; sendo assim, os dados evidenciam que a pandemia da Covid-19 foi um fator agravante na adição de estressores que facilitam o desenvolvimento da síndrome de Burnout. O estudo tem como objetivo compreender quais fatores favorecem o desenvolvimento da síndrome de Burnout em profissionais da enfermagem.
