Teachers and their awareness role of the need of environmental preservation: a study in two public elementary schools in the City of Canto do Buriti/PI

Resumo: This article aims to analyze how teachers have developed environmental education, aiming at making students more aware of it in their communities. The study was conducted in two public elementary schools located in the urban zone of the city of Canto do Buriti/PI. As theoretical framework, it considered authors such as Dias (2004), Reigota (2009), Cascino (1999), Moraes (1998), Andrade (2012), among others. Methodologically, semi-structured interviews with school managers and coordinators were conducted, and questionnaires with teachers, with open and closed questions, were applied. In the interpretation of the data collected through the instruments used in the research, the study concluded that it is necessary to intensify the programs of qualification of teachers from these schools, aiming at a constant increasing of their knowledge regarding this issue, in order to promote in students a change of behavior capable of transforming them in disseminators of environmental-conservation ideas that the planet needs so much.

El estudio investigó dos escuelas públicas primarias de la red del estado en la zona urbana de la ciudad de Canto do Buriti/PI. Como fundamento teórico, se utilizaron autores como Dias (2004), Reigota (2009), Cascino (1999), Moraes (1998), Andrade (2012), entre otros. Metodológicamente, entrevistas semiestructuradas con gestores y coordinadores fueron realizadas, y cuestionarios con preguntas abiertas y cerradas fueron aplicados con profesores. En la interpretación de los datos obtenidos a través de los instrumentos usados en la investigación, fue concluido que es necesario intensificar los programas de calificación de los profesores de las unidades de educación investigadas, teniendo como objetivo una mejora constante de sus conocimientos cuánto a esta cuestión, para promover en estudiantes un cambio de comportamiento capaz de hacerlos propagadores de ideas conservacionistas de que el planeta tanto necesita.Este trabalho teve como objetivo averiguar como os docentes têm desenvolvido a educação ambiental, visando a conscientizar a comunidade estudantil. O estudo investigou duas escolas públicas da rede estadual do Ensino Fundamental localizadas na zona urbana da cidade de Canto do Buriti/PI. Para fundamentação teórica, utilizou-se o aporte de autores como Dias (2004), Reigota (2009), Cascino (1999), Moraes (1998), Andrade (2012), dentre outros. Metodologicamente, realizaram-se entrevistas semiestruturadas com gestores e coordenadores, e foram aplicados questionários com professores contendo questões abertas e fechadas.
