Perception, knowledge and behavior of schoolchildren about COVID 19, in a city in the Brazilian Northeast

Resumo: Objective: To carry out an assessment of the perception, knowledge and behavior of schoolchildren in the municipality of Nova Soure, Bahia, through COVID-19. Methods: A cross-sectional and descriptive epidemiological study was carried out with high school students from Colégio Estadual Professora Maria De Lourdes Ferreira da Silva. After voluntarily joining the study, students received a questionnaire in the form of Google Forms, distributed by WhatsApp, consisting of 40 objective questions, with the aim of evaluating socioeconomic data, perceptions, knowledge, routine, habits, behaviors performed in the face of the pandemic on the COVID-19. Results: Regarding sociodemographic characteristics, 154 (56.7%) were female and 125 (43.3%) were male. The majority lived in the urban area 166 (57.4%) while the others lived in the rural area 123 (42.6%). Many were informed about the pandemic on the internet, 171 (59.2%) and 114 (39.4%) on TV. Most were physically active during the pandemic period 188 (65.1%) and 225 (77.9%) often left home during this period. Conclusion: The research developed showed that the use of technologies in the teaching and learning process contributes a lot to education; however, it was also observed that the pandemic accentuated disparities in relation to access to education.

Métodos: Se realizó un estudio epidemiológico transversal y descriptivo con estudiantes de enseñanza media del Colégio Estadual Professora Maria De Lourdes Ferreira da Silva. Luego de incorporarse voluntariamente al estudio, los estudiantes recibieron un cuestionario en forma de Google Forms, distribuido por WhatsApp, que consta de 40 preguntas objetivas, con el objetivo de evaluar datos socioeconómicos, percepciones, conocimientos, rutina, hábitos, comportamientos realizados frente à la pandemia del COVID-19. Resultados: En cuanto a las características sociodemográficas, 154 (56,7%) eran del sexo femenino y 125 (43,3%) del masculino. La mayoría vivía en la zona urbana 166 (57,4%) mientras que los demás vivían en la zona rural 123 (42,6%). Muchos se informaron sobre la pandemia por internet, 171 (59,2%) y 114 (39,4%) por televisión. La mayoría realizó actividad física durante el período de la pandemia 188 (65,1%) y 225 (77,9%) a menudo se fueron de casa durante este período. Conclusión: La investigación desarrollada demostró que el uso de tecnologías en el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje aporta mucho a la educación, sin embargo, también se observó que la pandemia acentuó las disparidades en relación al acceso a la educación.Objetivo: Realizar uma avaliação da percepção, do conhecimento e do comportamento dos escolares no município de Nova Soure, Bahia, mediante a COVID-19. Métodos: Foi realizado um estudo epidemiológico transversal e descritivo, com alunos do ensino médio do Colégio Estadual Professora Maria De Lourdes Ferreira da Silva. Após aderirem voluntariamente ao estudo, alunos receberam um questionário no formato do Google Forms, distribuído pelo WhatsApp, composto por 40 perguntas objetivas, com o intuito de avaliar dados socioeconômicos, percepções, conhecimentos, rotina, hábitos, comportamentos realizados no enfrentamento da pandemia sobre o COVID-19. Resultados: Em relação às características sociodemográficas, 154 (56,7%) eram do sexo feminino e 125 (43,3%) do sexo masculino. A maior parte residia na zona urbana 166 (57,4%) enquanto os demais residiam na zona rural 123 (42,6%). Muitos se informavam a respeito da pandemia pela internet 171 (59,2%) e 114 (39,4%) pela TV. A maior parte fazia atividade física no período da pandemia 188 (65,1%) e 225 (77,9%) saia de casa com frequência nesse período.
