Resumo: | This text deals with the subject of Distance Education (DE) in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis. To this end, it aims to understand the concepts and foundations of distance education, in order to analyze the perceptions of students, as to distance education as a strategy to resolve the losses in the teaching and learning process at EPT, due to the Covid Pandemic. It is methodologically guided by the bibliographic technique and the presentation of data that draw the perceptions of students enrolled in face-to-face courses about distance education classes. The data were analyzed and discussed, from categories. Thus, this article is divided into three sections, namely: a) it addresses the concepts and foundations of distance education; b) deals with the challenges and possibilities of distance education in Federal Education Institutes, in the face of the pandemic; c) presents the students' perception of remote activities, especially the Philosophy course. It is concluded that the Covid-19 Pandemic was, in some way, a privileged moment of recognition of the weaknesses and potentialities as an educational community. |

Con este fin, tiene como objetivo comprender los conceptos y fundamentos de la educación a distancia, con el fin de analizar las percepciones de los estudiantes, en cuanto a la educación a distancia como una estrategia para resolver las pérdidas en el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje en el EPT, debido a la pandemia de Covid. Se guía metodológicamente por la técnica bibliográfica y la presentación de datos que extraen las percepciones de los estudiantes inscritos en cursos presenciales sobre clases de educación a distancia. Los datos fueron analizados y discutidos, de categorías. Por lo tanto, este artículo se divide en tres secciones, a saber: a) aborda los conceptos y fundamentos de la educación a distancia; b) aborda los desafíos y posibilidades de la educación a distancia en los Institutos Federales de Educación, ante la pandemia; c) presenta la percepción de los estudiantes sobre actividades remotas, especialmente el curso de Filosofía. Se concluye que la pandemia de Covid-19 fue, de alguna manera, un momento privilegiado de reconocimiento de las debilidades y potencialidades como comunidad educativa.O presente texto tematiza a respeito da Educação a Distância (EaD) em meio à crise do COVID-19. Para tanto, tem por finalidade conhecer os conceitos e os fundamentos da EaD, de modo a analisar as percepções dos estudantes, quanto a EaD como estratégia para dirimir os prejuízos no processo de ensino e aprendizagem na EPT, em virtude da Pandemia do Covid. Pauta-se metodologicamente na técnica bibliográfica e na apresentação de dados que desenham as percepções dos estudantes matriculados em cursos presenciais acerca das aulas por EaD. Os dados foram analisados e discutidos, a partir de categorias. Assim, este artigo está dividido em três seções, a saber: a) aborda os conceitos e os fundamentos da EaD; b) trata dos desafios e das possibilidades da EaD nos Institutos Federais de Ensino, diante da pandemia; c) apresenta a percepção dos estudantes a respeito das atividades remotas, em especial da unidade curricular de Filosofia.
