Resumo: | The objective of this study was to investigate the factors that influence teachers in the contemporary context to the abandonment of the teaching career. The research carried out is of the bibliographic type, with a qualitative character. Data collection was carried out in the following electronic databases: Scielo, Google Scholar, Bireme, repositories of dissertations and theses of the main Brazilian universities during the second half of 2018. The results of the study indicate that the lack of appreciation of the teacher, the precarious conditions of work, low wages, lack of incentive for initial and continuing training, disrespect, and overwork lead to exhaustion, disenchantment and frustration and consequently dropping the teaching career. |

La investigación realizada es del tipo bibliográfico, de carácter cualitativo. La recolección de datos fue realizada en las siguientes bases de datos electrónicas: Scielo, Google Académico, Bireme, repositorios de disertaciones y tesis de las principales universidades brasileñas durante el segundo semestre de 2018. Los resultados del estudio apuntan que la falta de valorización del profesor, las condiciones precarias de trabajo, los bajos salarios, la falta de incentivo a la formación inicial y continuada, el irrespeto y la sobrecarga de trabajo conducen al agotamiento, desencanto y frustración y consecuentemente al abandono de la carrera docente.O objetivo desse estudo foi investigar os fatores que influenciam os professores no contexto contemporâneo ao abandono da carreira docente. A pesquisa realizada é do tipo bibliográfico, de caráter qualitativo. A coleta de dados foi realizada nas seguintes bases de dados eletrônicas: Scielo, Google Acadêmico, Bireme e repositórios de dissertações e teses das principais universidades brasileiras durante o segundo semestre de 2018.
