Resumo: This work evaluated the importance of regular walks in the daily life of hypertensive and diabetic patients in the city of Capanema - Paraná and the impacts on their physical status. Twelve volunteers from the Hiperdia program participated. A cross-sectional descriptive study with a quantitative approach was carried out. The participants answered a questionnaire and anthropometric data (blood pressure, fasting glycemia, Body Mass Index and weight) were collected before and after the experimental protocol, carried out in two phases, one with monitoring for 2 months and the other without monitoring for 5 months. The results showed that regular walking acts positively in controlling blood pressure and blood glucose levels, although they were not statistically significant by the T test applied to all parameters studied. It is concluded that physical activity can be a supportive method in the maintenance of blood pressure and glycemia, which could result in improved quality of life for the individual and reduce comorbidities, besides minimizing the economic cost of the diseases.

Participaram 12 voluntários do programa Hiperdia. Research, Society and Development2022-06-21info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/3083310.33448/rsd-v11i8.30833Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 No. 8; e35011830833Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 Núm. 8; e35011830833Research, Society and Development; v. 11 n. 8; e350118308332525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/30833/26595Copyright (c) 2022 Cristiane Pinheiro Fúcolo Zuliani; Amanda Fúcolo Zuliani; Giuliana Zardeto; Daniela de Cassia Faglioni Boleta-Cerantohttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessZuliani, Cristiane Pinheiro FúcoloZuliani, Amanda FúcoloZardeto, Giuliana Boleta-Ceranto, Daniela de Cassia Faglioni2022-07-01T13:34:06Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/30833Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:47:26.666434Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false
