Training an innovative professional using active learning methodologies: intervention assessment

Resumo: | This study aims to verify the efficiency and effectiveness of a proposal to implement active learning methodologies in the Civil Engineering course of an institution in the interior of Piauí, aimed at training an innovative professional. The Action Plan, elaborated for the implementation of these methodologies, which presented 23 actions, of which 13 were executed, was evaluated. Subsequently, 39 students participated in the application of a questionnaire. The sample agrees that the actions provided engagement and participation of teachers, reporting the need to improve aspects such as optimization of classes in the new laboratories and innovation room and in the way of using the tools of active methodologies. Then, 12 professors of the course and coordinator participated in a focus group. For the qualitative analysis of the data collected in the focus group, the R Interface pour les Analyzes Multidimensionnelles by Textes et de Questionnaires (IRAMUTEQ) was used, a free program that allows different forms of statistical analysis on textual corpus and on tables of individuals by words. From this analysis, the ramifications "Technology and education" and "The new profile of graduates and the labor market" emerged, which were in line with what the study had already defined in relation to the needs of implementing a new institutional culture, environments and adequate equipment, teacher training, skills development and innovation for the labor market. Finally, it is concluded that the adopted model constituted an efficient instrument for the implementation of active methodologies in the Civil Engineering course and can be used in other courses of the institution in which the study was developed and in other higher education institutions that intend to implement the tools of active methodologies as well as being able to serve as a basis for future studies on this theme. |

Se evaluó el Plan de Acción, elaborado para la implementación de estas metodologías, que presentó 23 acciones, de las cuales 13 fueron ejecutadas. Posteriormente, 39 estudiantes participaron en la aplicación de un cuestionario. La muestra coincide en que las acciones proporcionaron compromiso y participación de los docentes, informando la necesidad de mejorar aspectos como la optimización de las clases en los nuevos laboratorios y sala de innovación y en la forma de utilizar las herramientas de las metodologías activas. Luego, 12 profesores del curso y el coordinador participaron en un grupo focal. Para el análisis cualitativo de los datos recolectados en el grupo focal se utilizó el R Interface pour les Analyzes Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires (IRAMUTEQ), un programa gratuito que permite diferentes formas de análisis estadístico sobre corpus textuales y en tablas de individuos por palabras. De este análisis surgieron las ramificaciones "Tecnología y educación" y "El nuevo perfil de los egresados y el mercado laboral", que estaban en línea con lo que el estudio ya había definido en relación a las necesidades de implementar una nueva cultura institucional, entornos y equipamiento adecuado, formación de profesores, desarrollo de competencias e innovación para el mercado laboral. Finalmente, se concluye que el modelo adoptado constituyó un instrumento eficiente para la implementación de metodologías activas en el curso de Ingeniería Civil y puede ser utilizado en otros cursos de la institución en la que se desarrolló el estudio y en otras instituciones de educación superior que pretendan implementar las herramientas de las metodologías activas además de poder servir de base para futuros estudios sobre esta temática.O presente estudo tem como objetivo verificar a eficiência e a eficácia de uma proposta de implementação das metodologias de aprendizagem ativa no curso de Engenharia Civil de uma Instituição do interior Piauí, voltada para a formação de um profissional inovador. Foi avaliado o Plano de Ação, elaborado para a implementação dessas metodologias, que apresentava 23 ações, das quais 13 foram executadas. Posteriormente, 39 alunos participaram da aplicação de um questionário. A amostra concorda que as ações propiciaram engajamento e participação dos docentes, relatando a necessidade de melhorar aspectos como otimização das aulas nos novos laboratórios e sala de inovação e na forma de utilizar as ferramentas de metodologias ativas. Em seguida, 12 professores do curso e coordenadora participaram de um grupo focal. Para a análise qualitativa dos dados coletados no grupo focal, utilizou-se o Interface de R pour les Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires (IRAMUTEQ), programa gratuito que permite diferentes formas de análises estatísticas sobre corpus textuais e sobre tabelas de indivíduos por palavras. Dessa análise, emergiram as ramificações “A tecnologia e a educação” e “O novo perfil do egresso e o mercado de trabalho” que coadunaram com o que o estudo já havia delimitado em relação às necessidades da implantação de uma nova cultura institucional, ambientes e equipamentos adequados, formação de professores, desenvolvimento de competências e inovação para o mercado de trabalho.
