Effect of training on pediatric first aid for pregnant couples in primary care: an experience report

Resumo: Objective: To analyze the effect of a training on the knowledge of pregnant couples in primary care about pediatric first aid. Methodology: This is an experience report from a before and after training with a single comparison group, which was carried out in the municipality of Batalha - AL. Data were tabulated and analyzed using the IBM Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 28, and McNemar's non-parametric test; an evaluative instrument was used and a doll was used for training. Results: McNemar's test showed that the training was significant in the questions about CPA identification (X²(1)= 5.143; p= 0.016), and in performing CPR in children under one year (X²(1)= 4.167; p= 0.031) and over one year (X²(1)= 4.167; p= 0.031), and on the attitude if you saw a child drowning (X²(1)= 4.167; p= 0.031. Conclusion: All objectives were achieved, showing that training in pediatric first aid in primary care is fundamental and promising. This study is of great contribution to the scientific community and to the population, as no other equal training was found to train pregnant couples in primary care.

Metodología: Se trata de un relato de experiencia de un entrenamiento antes y después con un solo grupo de comparación, que se llevó a cabo en el municipio de Batalha - AL. Los datos fueron tabulados y analizados utilizando el Paquete Estadístico para Ciencias Sociales de IBM (SPSS) versión 28 y la prueba no paramétrica de McNemar; se utilizó un instrumento evaluativo y para el entrenamiento se utilizó un muñeco. Resultados: la prueba de McNemar mostró que el entrenamiento tuvo significancia en las preguntas sobre identificación de PCR (X²(1)= 5.143; p= 0.016), y en la realización de RCP en niños menores de un año (X²(1)= 4,167; p= 0,031) y mayores de un año (X²(1)= 4,167; p= 0,031), y en la actitud si se viera ahogar a un niño (X² (1)= 4.167 p= 0.031. Conclusión: Todos los objetivos fueron alcanzados, demostrando que la formación en primeros auxilios pediátricos en atención primaria es fundamental y prometedora. Este estudio hizo una contribución sustancial para la comunidad científica y la población, ya que no se encontró ningún otro estudio para habilitar a las parejas embarazadas en la atención primaria.Objetivo: Analisar o efeito de uma capacitação no conhecimento de casais grávidos da atenção primária sobre primeiros socorros pediátricos. Metodologia: Trata-se de um relato de experiência oriundo de uma capacitação do tipo antes e depois com grupo único de comparação, que foi realizado no município de Batalha – AL. Os dados foram tabulados e analisados utilizando-se o programa IBM Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) versão 28, e o teste não paramétrico de McNemar; foi utilizado um instrumento avaliativo e utilizado um boneco para a capacitação. Resultados: o teste de McNemar evidenciou que a capacitação teve significância nas questões sobre identificação de PCR (X²(1)= 5,143; p= 0,016), e na realização de RCP em crianças menores de um ano (X²(1)= 4,167; p= 0,031)  e acima de um ano (X²(1)= 4,167; p= 0,031), e sobre a atitude se avistasse uma criança se afogando (X²(1)= 4,167; p= 0,031. Conclusão: Todos os objetivos foram alcançados, evidenciando que realizar capacitação em primeiros socorros pediátrico na atenção primária é fundamental e promissor.
