Resumo: | The objective of this article is to present the different strategies of promotion of education by popular culture from the activities of the Campaign "De pé no chão também se aprende a ler". In order to reach this goal, we carried out a literature review considering classical authors in the discussion of the theme, such as José Willington Germano, Moacyr de Góes and Djalma Maranhão; Theses and dissertations; Other written sources, such as newspapers, and testimonials from people who have experienced the activities of the Campaign, such as alumni and teachers. After analyzed separately, the sources were crossed, following the guidelines of Paul Thompson, and allowed us to make some initial considerations about the Campaign. We realized that there were diverse strategies for the promotion of education through popular culture, ranging from the construction of squares, theaters and libraries, to the development of cultural circles, spaces for critical literacy, based on the Paulo Freire System. We consider, then, that the Campaign was not constituted in a homogeneous way, otherwise, it acted in a diversified way, with a view to achieving the goal of the dissemination of education through Popular Culture. |

Para alcanzar ese objetivo, realizamos revisión bibliográfica considerando autores clásicos en la discusión del tema, como José Willington Germano, Moacyr de Góes y Djalma Maranhão; tesis y disertaciones; otras fuentes escritas, como periódicos, y testimonios de personas que vivenciaron las actividades de la Campaña, como ex alumnos y profesores. Después de analizar por separado, las fuentes fueron cruzadas, siguiendo las orientaciones de Paul Thompson, y nos permitieron tejer algunas consideraciones iniciales sobre la Campaña. Se percibió que existían estrategias diversas para la promoción de la educación a través de la cultura popular, que fueron desde la construcción de plazas, teatrinhos y bibliotecas, hasta el desarrollo de los círculos de cultura, espacios éstos destinados a la alfabetización crítica, a partir del Sistema Paulo Freire. Consideramos, entonces, que la Campaña no se constituyó de forma homogénea, de lo contrario, ella actuó de modo diversificado, con miras a alcanzar el objetivo de la diseminación de la educación a través de la Cultura Popular.O objetivo deste trabalho é apresentar as diversas estratégias de promoção da educação pela cultura popular a partir das atividades da Campanha “De pé no chão também se aprende a ler”. Para alcançar o referido objetivo, realizamos revisão bibliográfica considerando autores clássicos na discussão do tema, como José Willington Germano, Moacyr de Góes e Djalma Maranhão; teses e dissertações; outras fontes escritas, como jornais, e depoimentos de pessoas que vivenciaram as atividades da Campanha, como ex-alunos e professores. Após analisadas em separado, as fontes foram cruzadas, seguindo as orientações de Paul Thompson, e nos permitiram tecer algumas considerações iniciais sobre a Campanha. Percebemos que existiram estratégias diversas para a promoção da educação através da cultura popular, que foram desde a construção de praças, teatrinhos e bibliotecas, até o desenvolvimento dos círculos de cultura, espaços estes destinados a alfabetização crítica, a partir do Sistema Paulo Freire.
