The discourses on differences in education: from denial to the freirian utopia of communion in school

Resumo: Nowadays, critical reflections on the multiple modes of exclusion in society, as well as on the real meanings of inclusion policies in different spaces of coexistence, among them, the school, are gaining more substance. In this essay, we aim to give our contribution to these reflections, discussing the meanings attributed to human differences in the educational sphere and reinterpreting them in the light of Paulo Freire's thought. Adopting essay writing, we followed a trajectory of thought in which we first highlighted the existence of three different ideological formations that characterize human attitudes towards differences: that of denial, that of marking and that of communion, each of which implies a look about the pedagogical process. Then, after denouncing the discourses of denial and marking, we develop and advocate for the perspective of communion with differences, based on the freirian categories of inconclusion, awareness and dialogue. Finally, we conclude that the communion with differences from the freirian reading is a utopia not only possible, but also necessary for the realization of an effectively inclusive education.

No presente ensaio, objetivamos dar nossa contribuição a essas reflexões, discutindo os sentidos atribuídos às diferenças humanas no âmbito educacional e ressignificando-os à luz do pensamento de Paulo Freire. Adotando a escrita ensaística, percorremos uma trajetória de pensamento na qual primeiramente destacamos a existência de três diferentes formações ideológicas que caracterizam as atitudes humanas diante das diferenças: a da negação, a da marcação e a da comunhão, sendo que cada uma delas implica num olhar sobre o processo pedagógico. Em seguida, depois de denunciar os discursos da negação e da marcação, desenvolvemos e advogamos em favor da perspectiva da comunhão com as diferenças apoiando-nos nas categorias freirianas de inconclusão, conscientização e diálogo.
