Resumo: | This paper presents Brazilian High School students’ conceptions about human evolution and their interaction with sociocultural variables. Two thousand, four hundred and four (2404) students (55.1% girls) took part in the study and enrolled in the 1st year of High School in seventy-eight (78) schools. A questionnaire was applied and data was analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Science software - version 18.0. The results pointed out that there is an influence of religion and other variables tested, such as sex, age, region of the country where students live and students’ socioeconomic status. In addition, it was found that the young students’ ideas about human evolution seem to derive from a kind of teaching that does not consider the theory of evolution as a central axis of Biology, which gives the impression that there are no discussions about the history of man on Earth in Basic Education. |

Universidade LaSalle - Unilasalle CanoasCNPQCAPESPró- Reitoria de Pesquisa da USPOliveira, Graciela SilvaBizzo, Nelio Marco Vincenzo2017-05-08info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/Educacao/article/view/309910.18316/recc.v22i2.3099Educação, Ciência e Cultura; v. 22, n. 2 (2017); p. 45-552236-6377reponame:Revista Educação Ciência e Culturainstname:Universidade La Salle (UNILASALLE)instacron:UNILASALLEporhttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/Educacao/article/view/3099/pdfhttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/Educacao/article/downloadSuppFile/3099/572info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2017-08-08T00:39:06Zoai:ojs.revistas.unilasalle.edu.br:article/3099Revistahttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/Educacao/indexONGhttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/Educacao/oairevistas@unilasalle.edu.br||revista.educacao@unilasalle.edu.br2236-63772238-7293opendoar:2017-08-08T00:39:06Revista Educação Ciência e Cultura - Universidade La Salle (UNILASALLE)false |
