Principles of integration of cultural values to the curriculum and the organization of the contents in Mathematics textbooks

Resumo: | We present an investigation section in which we analyze the curriculum of Mathematics presented for the Education of Young and Adults. The research, with a qualitative approach, was developed through documentary analysis based on the analysis of two collections of Math ematics textbooks destined to the EJA. In this section we focus on the elements that the books present concerning the principles on which the curricula should be designed in order to prompt to the students an integration of mathematical cultural values bas ed on the ideas of mathematical enculturation and the ways in which the organization of the contents are presented, whether linear or networked. The reflections show us that the investigated books present, in some approaches, elements that favor the integr ation of cultural values in Mathematics. We also observed a tendency to organize the mathematical contents in such a way as to stimulate an articulation among the themes. Keywords: Textbook. Integration of cultural values in the curriculum. A pesquisa, de abordagem qualitativa, foi desenvolvida por meio de análise documental a partir da análise de duas coleções de livros didáticos de Matemática destinados à EJA. Nesse recorte, pautamos nos elementos que os livros apresentam referentes aos pr incípios sobre os quais os currículos deveriam ser concebidos de modo a propiciar aos estudantes uma integração de valores culturais matemáticos baseando se nas ideias da enculturação matemática e nos modos em que são apresentados a organização dos conteúd os, seja linear ou em rede. As reflexões nos mostram que os livros investigados apresentam, em algumas abordagens, elementos que favorecem a integração de valores culturais na Matemática. Observamos, também, uma tendência em organizar os conteúdos matemáti cos de maneira a estimular uma articulação entre os temas. Palavras-chave: Livro didático.
