Resumo: Financial Education involves acquiring knowledge, skills, and attitudes thatempower individuals to make informed decisions regarding managing financialresources. In this context, we present an approach to this topic related to teaching practicewith senior high school students. The goal is to emphasize the importance of FinancialEducation in students' lives based on the content of financial mathematics teaching. The method included lectures and interactive activities covering different topics, such asdistinguishing between needs and wants, creating budgets, and understanding simple andcompound interests. The results indicated that students absorbed theory andapplied the knowledge in practice, demonstrating increased financial awareness and theability to make informed decisions.

En este contexto, describimos una investigación realizada a la educación del nivel secundário con la finalidad de investigar la importancia de la Educación Financiera en la vida de los estudiantes a partir de la práctica pedagógica en la enseñanza de los conceptos básicos de la matemática financiera. El método consta de clases expositivas y actividades interactivas, abordando temas como diferenciar entre necesidades y deseos, crear presupuestos y comprender los conceptos sobre interés simple y compuesto. Los resultados sugieren que los estudiantes no solo comprendieron la teoría, sino que también pudieron aplicar el conocimiento en la práctica, demostrando conciencia financiera y capacidad para tomar decisiones informadas.A Educação Financeira compreende a aquisição de conhecimentos, habilidades e atitudes que empoderam os indivíduos a tomarem decisões informadas no que diz respeito à gestão de recursos financeiros. Nesse contexto, o presente trabalho descreve uma pesquisa realizada com estudantes da 3ª série do Ensino Médio com o objetivo de investigar a importância da Educação Financeira na vida dos alunos a partir da prática docente dos conteúdos da Matemática Financeira. O método incluiu aulas expositivas e atividades interativas, abordando tópicos como diferenciação entre necessidades e desejos, criação de orçamentos e compreensão de juros simples e compostos.
