UNDERSTANDING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN TQM HARD, SOFT AND PERFORMANCE: A THEORETICAL APPROACH

Resumo: | This article aims to understand the relationship between hard and soft TQM and performance of the firm. Thereunto, we attempted to conduct a systematic literature review, which were identified 102 articles, from them, 52 international publications were analyzed. The study allows to highlight the following findings: TQM should be linked to organizational strategy aimed at achieving the firm's performance; the relational aspects of TQM should be mixed, in other words, both hard as soft; the hard and soft aspects are background of TQM; the inviolability of soft dimension complicates the measurement by indicators; organizational competitiveness can be obtained from the TQM implementation in line with elements of the difficult competitive strategy to be imitated in short term, like the Dynamic Capabilities. |

Para eso se intentó llevar a cabo una revisión sistemática de la literatura, y fueron identificados 102 artículos, de los cuales se analizaron 52 publicaciones internacionales. El estudio permite destacar los siguientes hallazgos: TQM debe estar vinculado a la estrategia organizacional, orientada para la consecución de resultados de la empresa; los aspectos relacionales de la TQM se deben mezclar, es decir, tanto duro como suave; los aspectos duros y suaves son anteriores a la TQM; la inviolabilidad de la dimensión suave complica la medición de los indicadores; competitividad organizacional se puede obtener de la implementación de TQM, en línea con elementos de la estrategia competitiva difícil de ser imitada en el corto plazo, por ejemplo, las capacidades dinámicas.Este artigo tem a finalidade de compreender a relação entre TQM hard e soft e a performance da firma. Para isso, buscou-se realizar uma revisão sistemática da literatura onde foram identificados 102 artigos, dos quais 52 publicações internacionais foram analisadas.
