Resumo: | Education is a process which search teaching and learning. Thereunto, it is necessary a way to perform. One of these models is the traditional pedagogy that has been served as basis for other pedagogies. This model, despite the time, it is present in the schools in the modern society. Environmental Education is a process that searches in individuals the affirmation of values and clarification of concepts. This article aims to reflect about the main concepts and characteristics of Environmental Education and the Traditional Pedagogy. It is not important criticize or judge, but perform an analysis of the following question: How do we want to perform Environmental Education in its totality if Traditional Models are part of the school yet? This discussion is an excerpt of a Master degree Dissertation presented to the Post-Graduation Program of Universidade do sul de Santa Catarina – PPGE/UNISUL, entitled: Environmental Perception: an analysis from histories told by professors living in Rio Morto surroundings - Tubarão – Santa Catarina. |

A educação é um processo que busca ensinar e aprender. Para tanto, faz-se necessário um modo de fazer. Um desses modelos é a pedagogia tradicional, que serviu de base para todas as outras pedagogias. Modelo esse que, apesar do tempo, ainda está presente nas escolas da sociedade moderna. A Educação Ambiental é um processo que busca, no indivíduo, a afirmação de valores e clarificação de conceitos. O presente artigo objetiva refletir acerca dos principais conceitos e características da Educação Ambiental e da Pedagogia Tradicional. Não se procura criticar, muito menos julgar, mas analisar a seguinte questão: Como queremos fazer Educação Ambiental em sua totalidade, se os moldes Tradicionais ainda fazem parte da escola?
