Ricardo de CastroDissertação (Mestrado) - Universidade de Taubaté, Programa de Pós-graduação em Linguística Aplicada, Taubaté, 2007.Resumo: Resumo: O objetivo deste trabalho é investigar o processo de aprendizagem dos alunos de uma 7ª série do ensino fundamental ao longo do desenvolvimento de uma unidade didática elaborada a partir do gênero textual notícia em inglês, examinando a percepção desses alunos em relação à sua própria aprendizagem no decorrer do processo, e os resultados das produções escritas dos alunos realizadas ao final de todo o trabalho. Este estudo está teoricamente embasado na abordagem sócio-interacional da linguagem e o seu papel na cosntrução do conhecimento, conforme proposto por Vygotsky (1934-2005), no papel da LM na aprendizzagem de uma LE, discutido por Castro (2002), Quast (2003) e Terra (2003), dentro de uma perspectiva sociocultural, baseada em Vygotsky (1934), e no trabalho com gêneros textuais em sala de aula (SCHNEUWLY e DOLZ, 2004; LOUSADA, 2005; entre outros). As propostas de ensino nas quais este trabalho está baseado são: Dolz, Noverraz and Schneuwly (2004), Ramos (2004), Lopes-Rossi (2002). A coleta de dados deu-se por meio de questionários respondidos pelos alunos, e de suas produções escritas. Para a análise das respostas dos questionários foi feita a categorização dos dados (ERICKSON, 1986), e a base para a análise das produções escritas foram as três capacidades de linguagem conforme propostas por Dolz e Schneuwly (2004) à luz de Bronckart (1999). Os resultados obtidos apontam algumas contribuições de ssa proposta de ensino: o papel da LM como instrumento mediador da aprendizagem de LE; a aprendizagem contextualizada de aspectos relacionados à língua inglesa (vocabulário, estruturas, produção escrita, gênero textual em questão); o trabalho em grupo como mediador do processo de aprendizagem; a necessidade de atividades que propiciem um maior contato com o inglês. Foi possível verificar também que o trabalho com o gênero textual notícia tornou a aprendizagem estimulante para grande parte dos alunos por esses sentirem-se capazes de fazer uso dessa segunda língua em situações reais de comunicação.Abstract: Abstract: The aim of this study is to investigate the learning process of students of a 7 grade of elementary school during a teaching unit material based on the textual genre news in English. The study examines these students perceptions about their own learning during the process, and the results of the students written productions at the end of the unit. Its main theoretical tenets are: the socio-interactional approach of language and its role in the knowledge construction, as proposed by Vigotsky (1934/2005), the role of the mother tongue in the learning of a foreign language, discussed by Castro (2002), Quast (2003) and Terra (2004), in a sociocultural perspective, based on Vygotsky (1934), and the role of textual genres in classroom work (SCHNEUWLY and DOLZ, 2004; LOUSADA, 2005, and others). The teaching proposals the study is based on are by: Dolz, Noverraz and Schneuwly (2004), Ramos (2004), Lopes-Rossi (2002). The data was collected through questionnaires answered by the students, and their written productions. The students answers in the questionnaires were analyzed in the light of the categories ( ERICKSON, 1986), and anlysis of the written productions was based upon the three language capacities as proposed by Dolz and Schneuwly (2004) according to Bronckart (1999).The results obtained indicate some contributions of this teaching proposal: the role of teh mother tongue as a mediating tool of foreign language learning: the contextualized learning of the aspects related to the English language (vocabulary, structures, written production, this textual genre); group work as a mediator of the learning process; the necessary of activities that provide a closer contact with English. It was also possible to verify that the work with the textual genre news stimulated students learning because most of them felt they were able to use this second language in real situations of communication.Made available in DSpace on 2019-09-09T17:23:03Z (GMT).
