Teaching cases in research on teacher training

Resumo: | This text aims to problematize the use of teaching cases as a theoretical and methodological element in research on teacher education in the context of the stricto sensu graduate program. The study, of an exploratory and documentary nature, takes as its locus of investigation the Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD) and the CAPES Theses and Dissertations Catalog, considering that both databases concentrate productions of postgraduate programs. The first stage of the study identified 264 theses and dissertations, which went through analysis of titles, abstracts and keywords, consolidating 36 researches that were, effectively, the corpus of analysis of the investigation. The 36 works were analyzed in full, with the purpose of carrying out an integrative synthesis covering the following axes of discussion: theoretical references; aspects that constitute the methodology; and, results of investigations. Publications were identified from the year 2001 onwards, with the majority of research taking teaching cases as an instrument of investigation and training, generally associated with other instruments. In those studies in which teaching cases are central to the object of study, their potential for formation and contribution to the professional development of teachers are explored. It also highlights the need for research in the field of teacher training to further explore teaching cases as a training element, since these are configured as possibilities to promote effective reflection on the teacher's action. |

El estudio, de carácter exploratorio y documental, toma como centro de investigación la Biblioteca Digital de Tesis y Disertaciones (BDTD) y el Catálogo de Tesis y Disertaciones CAPES, considerando que ambas bases de datos concentran producciones de programas de posgrado. La primera etapa del estudio identificó 264 tesis y disertaciones, las cuales pasaron por análisis de títulos, resúmenes y palabras clave, consolidando 36 investigaciones que fueron, efectivamente, el corpus de análisis de la investigación. Los 36 trabajos fueron analizados en su totalidad, con el fin de realizar una síntesis integradora cubriendo los siguientes ejes de discusión: referencias teóricas; aspectos que constituyen la metodología; y resultados de las investigaciones. Las publicaciones se identificaron desde el año 2001 en adelante, siendo la mayoría de las investigaciones tomando los casos de docencia como instrumento de investigación y formación, generalmente asociado a otros instrumentos. En aquellos estudios en los que los casos de enseñanza son centrales al objeto de estudio, se explora su potencial de formación y contribución al desarrollo profesional de los docentes. También destaca la necesidad de investigar en el campo de la formación docente para profundizar en la exploración de los casos de enseñanza como elemento formativo, ya que estos se configuran como posibilidades para promover una reflexión efectiva sobre la acción del docente.Este texto tem como propósito sistematizar a utilização dos casos de ensino como elemento teórico-metodológico nas pesquisas acerca da formação de professores no âmbito da pós-graduação stricto sensu. O estudo, de caráter exploratório e cunho documental, toma como lócus de investigação a Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações (BDTD) e o Catálogo de Teses e Dissertações da CAPES, tendo em vista que ambas as bases de dados concentram produções dos programas de pós-graduação. A primeira etapa do estudo identificou 264 teses e dissertações, que passaram por análise de títulos, resumos e palavras-chave, consolidando 36 pesquisas que foram, efetivamente, o corpus de análise da investigação. Os 36 trabalhos foram analisados na íntegra, com o propósito de realizar uma síntese integrativa abarcando os seguintes eixos de discussão: referentes teóricos; aspectos que constituem a metodologia; e, resultados das investigações. Foram identificadas publicações a partir do ano de 2001, sendo que a maior parte das pesquisas toma os casos de ensino como instrumento de investigação e formação, geralmente associado a outros instrumentos. Naquelas pesquisas em que há centralidade dos casos de ensino como objeto de estudo, explora-se seu potencial formador e a contribuição para o desenvolvimento profissional docente.
