Resumo: The objective of this study was to review the literature in search of which are the composite resins used in class III and class IV restorations and what were the main flaws found in these restorations of anterior teeth. This study had as methodology the active search for original articles published or indexed in MEDLINE, in addition, some books from the library of the Faculty of Dentistry of Araçatuba was used to complement the information. The search of literature was on the two central themes of this work: composite resin for anterior teeth and failures in direct restorations in anterior teeth. Conclusion: It could be concluded that microhybrid resins are more indicated for this type of restoration, in addition, the main faults that could be observed was related to dental fracture or restorations that were performed motivated by aesthetic factors

Este estudo teve como metodologia a busca ativa de artigos originais publicados ou indexados no MEDLINE, além disso, foram utilizados livros da biblioteca da Faculdade de Odontologia de Araçatuba para complementação das informações. Buscou-se realizar a pesquisa bibliográfica sobre os dois temas centrais deste trabalho: resina composta para dentes anteriores e falhas nas restaurações diretas em dentes anteriores.
