Resumo: The importance of Geography teaching aimed to suit the needs and interests of students is currently a challenge which must be faced by educators consistently to all years of primary school education. The use of differentiated teaching resources that motivates and inspires students in the pursuit of knowledge was the way found by this research to discuss the ways to teach cartography in Elementary Education II. The research methodology used was exploratory that has a qualitative view which is more interested in the process than the product. After literature review and analysis of the instructional sequence applied, was possible to understand the difference between the schools that the new generation needs, and the school they have today. The results were encouraging in view of the clear interest and motivation of students with the proposed activity. It is intended that this research will be useful as a tool for ongoing discussion about the renovation of school education in our country, specifically in school cartography

A utilização de recursos didáticos diferenciados, que motivem e inspirem os alunos na busca pelo conhecimento, foi a forma encontrada por esta pesquisa para discutir os caminhos do ensino da cartografia no Ensino Fundamental II. A metodologia de pesquisa utilizada foi de caráter exploratório, além de possuir uma visão qualitativa, pois se interessa mais pelo processo do que pelo produto. Após revisão bibliográfica e análise da sequência didática aplicada foi possível entender a diferença entre a escola que as novas gerações necessitam, e a escola que se tem hoje. Os resultados obtidos foram estimulantes, tendo em vista o nítido interesse e motivação dos alunos com a atividade proposta.
