The objective of this research project was develop a literature review about main Geography teaching tools being currently researched, and thereby providing the reader with an overview of the field. Likewise, we present here an overview of the use of Geography teaching materials in across the public primary and secondary education system based on the case of Josepha Cubas da Silva school. The project focused on the analysis of teaching materials available at schools, as well as those made and brought in to class by the teacher as educational tools. Having this scenario as a starting point, we expect to present new teaching ideas and materials that will contribute to enhance learning processes in areas where students experience academic weaknesses. The analysis demonstrates a general aspect of the methodological framework used by the school's educational system, and indicates possible directions towards new teaching practices.
